Two things this sport (and the world at large) needs.

100% more personality.
100% less tight-asses.

If the people here that are running Cooper down (and Peick and whoever else for goodness sake) are truly upset to the point your blood pressure is elevating, take care of your health. Cooper is barely 20 years old. If all goes well for him, he should be around for at least a decade.

He is focused and determined just like many of the champions that have come before him (Hannah, Carmichael, Reed just to name a few). These guys were abrasive too. You don't have to like him and you're entitled to your opinions, but settle in for the long haul. Without some tragedy, Cooper will be among the best for some time.

Someone here will use their "what's your point" trump card I'm sure.

My point: Stop watching Cooper race if you can't deal with his reactions. He ain't going away!

Does anything ever really change? I remember the divided camps around Marty Smith and Bob Hannah. And the world keeps on turning round and round.

That said Cooper could've just as easily
- waved his hand to the rider in question like he wanted to say : "What the hell were you doing ??"
- tapped his index finger to his helmet while looking at the rider in question meaning : "Are you crazy ??"
- pointed towards his own eyes while looking at the rider in question meaning : "Look where you are going you stupid idiot !!"

He would've achieved exactly the same thing without being immature about it. I know that if my kid acts like Cooper did on the racetrack i would talk to him about it when he comes back into the pits.

Everyone goes for the plan that works for them.

I'll also defer to my previous reply.

If it had been Bob Hannah? I'm guessing a large percent of the crowd here would have loved it.

I like Coop; but, even -he- got in people's way during qualifying...namely, Zach's.

I wouldn't. I don't care if it is Cooper Webb, Bob Hannah or even the pope. I don't like such kind of behaviour. If you don't agree with the actions of another rider you can also make it clear in a way which would not offend people.
I don't actually mind so much flipping the finger. It was the way he did it. He kept it long enough in the air and was really looking at the other rider because he wanted to make sure the other rider saw it. Really not necessary. Especially not in only a qualifiying session.

Correct. In one of my post i already said that he was very mature during the race. I actually could not believe that this was the same rider that was flipping the finger in qualifying.

Trust me, him offending a few people who weren't fans anyway is the last thing he gives a shit about.

I get why people like Cooper Webb, it's good to have someone with a bit of attitude in the sport, but some things he does are just a bit unnecessary and he acts like acts like a childish prick at times

I love the jerks picking on him for thanking God. Many of the top riders thank God and Jesus on the podium. Real cheap shot. I bet the haters are perfect and have never did anything wrong...

Only been one perfect man to walk this earth, Jesus. ALL the rest are flawed...

Get used to hating on him because he is going to be around for along time....
1. WTF does questioning God's involvement in the outcome of a Supercross 250 main have to do with thinking one is perfect?

2. Yeah, well, that's just, like your opinion, man. Millions would argue that Buddha was the one perfect man to walk the earth. I would argue that it is Jeff Lebowski (The Dude, not the rich guy.)

3. I hope he is around for a long time. Webb is one hell of a talented rider, just needs to learn some common respect for other riders.

You posted earlier that you blasted a guy with a fire extinguisher for giving you the finger. I don't think you're the best person to be giving advice on how Webb should have handled himself.

You're witnessing the second coming of Damon Bradshaw and some of you PC-Police are ruining it for yourselves. Perhaps you prefer the system-produced automatons who scramble and generate a phrase from the phrasebank their PR manager gave them...but, ya know, that's the point, go just keep, uh, moving forward....

I just wish he would move back to the east coast and get his southern draw back.

Doughlas my man.. If you think Dungey hasn't ever flipped someone off on the track before then you better lay off the glue.

I fuggin love Webb, he's a badass and doesn't give two fucks about what anyone thinks Smile He is an example of truly believing he is the best guy and that's what it takes for some. Reminds me of the Hurricane.

Meant to quote you to MR. X. Personally I love Webb, and the breath off fresh air he brings to the sport.

I've seen a couple references to Ricky, and I couldn't agree more, they want to win everything. JT described it best regarding RC on the FLY moto 60 show last week in which he said (I paraphrase) Carmichael never took the knife off the throat of the competition. Also said Ricky worried about people gaining confidence, and quickly crushed it when anyone gained it.
