I dont understand some people and their utter dislike of a rider, I get that people have their favourites and dont like them being beaten, but putting other riders down in the manner they do is just dumb.

But its the way of the world now, people can say shit about someone behind their keyboard and not have any consequences, its easy to hide behind a name and act tough. I guess if you are in the public eye these days you have to have thick skin.

I actually think Vital is pretty good, as someone said above FB is full of abusive people.

Caveat: Yes, I have said some negative comments towards riders in the past, and have eaten humble pie more than a few times. But have never degraded a rider like some others do.

I dislike it when social media turns into anti-social media. That also includes in here.

I agree, it IS ok to have an opinion about someone or something but not in the manner that is, as you say, anti-social

sometimes i ask myself why malcom constantly tries to justify their and especially james's success to some random haters on the internet. i mean, everyone who does not understand that james is a living legend in this sport has clearly no idea about this sport. you don't have to be a fan but you need to acknowledge and understand that.
so why bother and make your life miserable by some keyboard warriors?!

I never read instagram comments, they are a bit like YouTube comments. Who cares?

The internet is the last place where the "little man" can be heard. Not so coincidently, it's full of "little men" doing "little man" things.

I'm glad it exists though. Before the internet, "little men" bombed buildings in Oklahoma, or took over Western Europe one after another.

Another sport superstar talked about the same thing, at first he enjoyed getting with the fans, but after so much bs, he no longer does the social media thing.

The grammar and spelling in that made my head hurt.

There will always be douche bags. Years ago the only avenue they had to express their doucheness was to yell at the event, now, they have many different platforms to get their 15 seconds of 'fame'.....

That was 10 minutes I'll never get back.....

Shame on those people for saying something online they'd never say to that persons face. And double shame on Malcolm for playing the victim. There will always be ignorant people, but it's always best to ignore them. The more anyone acknowledges their existence the more power they get.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Insta-trolls are the absolute lowest form of humanity. They make Vital look like a church camp-out.

They're both obviously talented as hell and these people making the comments are ignorant. The only thing I would say to Malcolm is that while I appreciate the love for his brother, he needs to focus on getting his. Every interview and messages like this he's always talking about JS, and honestly, it's not like that the other way. I'm a fan of both and would like to see Malcolm win a ton of races.

I have said it many times before, riders should totally ignore the net. There is no upside to them reading negative things about themselves. And no matter how strong mentally that they think they are, all those negative comments will eventually chop down their confidence levels. It is a lose/lose situation for them. If they do post it should be on their own dot com, where they can share cool things with their fans and not have to read any bullshit from the haters. When they retire, sure, go back and read all the bullshit, but until then they need all the positivity and confidence they can get.

The internet is a good and bad thing, gotta have thick skin, you will hear good and bad things. Simple solution stay off, odd that athletes, movie stars, high profile people love it when things are good, but as soon as its bad, it is no ones business or your a hater , lol, cant have it both ways.

The Stewart's have to put up with far more then the average racer and if you don't think that's a hindrance then you aren't thinking clearly

If you can't say something nice don't say nothing at all.

Some professional riders wouldn't even have social media accounts if it wasn't required by sponsors, and for the fact that it carries weight when negotiating a contract.

I am surprised if I did, if so then I apologise, perhaps I did not get your drift when in fact your opinion was the same as mine...sometimes we misinterpret peoples written words

All malcom has to say. "Thanks to all the peeps who continue to support us". Anything negative just looks pathetic.

I'm exactly the same way brother. Not just Vital , as I'm into other things as well , but it's just message boards and emails for me. All my friends know how to get a hold of me and that's what counts.

I have had so many friends and family members go through the facebook , twitter , instagram BS , and some of them have gotten completely out of it because of all the BS involved.

Plus , I don't care for the "Instant contact " type thing , 24/7. Maybe I'm old school , but damn it man , call me or send me a text.

Seems like Malcom needs a PR representative. At a minimum, someone to guide him.

Then again, if his contract negotiating strength (as someone said above) is based simply on the volume of responses, and he doesn't bother reading them, the more crap he stirs up the better. Would be funny if he were using the haters for personal gain.
