Canard, Tomac and Roczen have more aggression, speed, and power. However, Dunge is right there and far more consistent. If the Top 4 riders are within a few tenths and Dunge has far less std dve in lap times..... WHO WINS?
Your statements have been proved wrong repeatedly though. Often times, Dungey has the fastest lap and often times those guys have all started close to each other and Dungey has come out on top. It's simply a misnomer that Dungey is not as fast (with the clear exception of the start of last season's outdoors where Tomac was much much faster). It could be said that RV was a tad faster than Dungey, but Dungey has beat Canard, Tomac, and Roczen too many times for anyone to say that they are faster. Simply not true.

See what happens in a few weeks. Roczen straight up beat Dungey for the '14 MX title. He was injured all year in '15 except for the first few rounds of SX and the end of MX. '16 will hopefully be a much better indicator.

No, you're not.Evil Because the other guy can also mill parts and use a lathe and all kinds of stuff.

The other gets cheeseburger armpit tattoos and camels on their toes.

"Roczen straight up beat Dungey for the '14 MX title"

Not exactly. Roczen started really strong, then began fading pretty badly down the stretch. Dungey did what classic Dungey does, and built momentum all season long. It was clear to pretty much everybody that Dungey was going to win the championship until that mudder.

Roczen deserved to win it, don't get me wrong, but to say Roczen beat Dungey straight up for the '14 MX title isn't exactly correct.

My main point was that .if Kroc does nt beat dungey by a mile . loads of people are like ,its the bike ,its because he left Aldon . i am pulling for Kroc to win the championship , and i think he will .But god it will be close between him and dungey . Its really unfair to RCH imo ,as well as dungey . Yes Kenny didnt have the best of years . but i have a feeling even if he goes well this year and the championship goes to the last round then finishes 2nd to dungey .people will have the daggers out . when has there ever been any time to think that Kenny would just clean the floor with dungey . its 50 - 50 ,who wins it between dungey and ken imo . only if ken loses people will look for someone to blame

Not sure Dungey would have won it, but he had the confidence/momentum on his side. Then the mudder changed it all. Smile

Yeah, I guess that's a more accurate assertion. I felt like Dungey had that one in the bag, personally.

Some numbers from the supercross last year. This isn't to prove one thing or another, I'm just kinda bored at work and like numbers.Obviously Roczen got hurt and only raced the first 9, so this is from that.

Very interesting stats...... lots of interesting debates can be had here

Dungey is the cool calm collected rider that really is like a diesel- not the best at anyone thing except for the most important thing: consistency.

How many did he win in 2014 when RV & JS7 were racing?

I don't think anyone thinks that Roczen is miles faster, like in another league to Dungey, you can have all the consistency in the world but you won't win championships without speed. I do think that Roczen is more gifted, and probably slightly faster than Dungey though, and I think he'll win more races than Dungey this season, both SX and outdoors

Here's from the outdoors of 2015. If I get a wild hair maybe I'll do 2014.

Not sure about SX but I think Tomac will school them both outdoors this season.

imo i think there are a couple guys faster than dungey, maybe even a few. but he is the most consistent so does that matter? tomcat, roczen and even maybe canard and barcia? could win championships if ducks all aligned properly. i mean lets be real here folks....
You can take barcia and canard off that list. Hes even in speed with roczen if he needs to be , only one i believe has more raw speed is tomac and when he rides over his head he' usaully ends up taking a dirt sample. My pick for 2016 the diesel barring any injury.

I think the consensus on here seems to be that when Dungey wins, it's because someone else had problems, but when Dungey gets beat, it's because he was slower. Personally, I'd rate Kenny and Dungey on an even keel with maybe KR having a slight tick of an edge. That was based on 2015. In 2015, anyone who was a fan of Dungey in the past and suffered the frustrations of watching him hesitate in moving forward saw a different Dungey. He added that missing piece of the puzzle, early aggression. This could pan out to be a great year, but I'm not getting my hopes up, I predict the same as previous years where after three to four races in, we have a two man show. Hope not, but I see no indications that would change history in that matter.

They raced each other a whole season and Ken ended up with more points in the end.
If you take out the mudder and the points that Ken made up in that race, then he would still have won the title. So don't blame it on that...

What exactly is beating someone straight up? Do you have to beat him by a 3 digit amound of points or what?

Also he didn't "fade badly".... I don't get why people say that, just because it was his problem a few years ago.
He won 4 motos in a row in the middle of the season. His worst finish over the whole season was a 4th

Could someone smart please calculate a million times faster then dungey please , let's say we use a 50 sec. lap time ,what would the lap time have to be if it was a million times faster.

If Tomac can keep himself off the ground then I agree. He needs to just win, not push as hard as he did last year when he's already a long way in the lead.

Roczen has never looked better to me in supercross than he did in 2015. With that said, Dungey was catching him at round 3, and Dungey started getting his setup better right at the time Roczen got hurt. If Kenny hadn't cased that jump, he still may have lost the title.

According to my math, Roczen's lap time would have to be .00005, or 20 thousandths of a second.

Being the guy with the most points when the smoke clears does. Speed doesn't count for much if you can't maintain over the course of a season.

I'll give credit to RV because he could combine the speed with the needed consistancy. Nobody else has stepped up to do that...yet.

I just dont get this . reading the other threads , it seems most people think the only reason Dungey beat kenny last year was the bike . Did they not see the season before , where Kenny won by the skin of his teeth on the same bike ,and imo bar a mud race ,dungey would of won . My point is ,both guy s at 100% same bike whatever . they are going to be really close . But people here seem to think that if Kenny does nt beat Dungey by a mile there is something wrong . must be the bike must be because he left aldon etc etc . End of the day Dungey is just as good of a rider .i am a big Kroc fan . but if he win s a championship next year , it will be close no matter what . Imo what has changed is Kroc was better at riding a POS KTM than Dungey was . now Dungey finally has a good bike again .
Simple answer? The majority of people that post here are sheep that go with the crowd, they don't look at facts or use logic. They don't realize that Dungey had the fastest lap time in all but 5 rounds last year, they just agree with what sounds good.

If I posted it and Slipdog and Team Green agreed that Barcia was out at the Yamaha test track and dropped his times compared to last year and will win the title, 80% of this place would jumo ship.
