Well, did the deed today. I took advantage of suzuki's rebate program, and pucked this up for about what a 250 smoker went for in 2006. Couldnt beat the deal.
So, what are some of the ins and outs, do's, and dont's of this bad boy?

Put on your normal stuff (hand guards, skid plate, etc etc) and go ride it to see what you need. Just because one guy HAD to have a revalve, or different clamps doesn't mean you do. That money would be better spent on gas, tires, and track fees.

And congrats on the bike!! Have fun!

Haha I guess so, at 20 I was just happy to buy a brand new bike. Even if it was 2 model years old lol things like a pipe, and clamps, and all that expensive stuff were out of the question.
My response wasn't directed at you or anyone else for that manner. Just stating my opinion (as a cheap ass)

Thanks guys! Weather looks to be pretty bum here this weekend. Probably do a couple heat cycles through her, check torque and grease the bearings.

Just wondering what people have noticed about them, or what they have learned from owning one.

I have had a bunch of rms, and always had good luck, and loved them. After spending some time with the yzf, it was time to switch back.

It may be worth it, if youre considering it. Kawi was doing 2015 450s for 5999, and zook is doing 5999 with 500 dealer cash on 2015s.

So the idea of "I spoke with my wallet" threads was in response to the 4 stroke fans who would tell the 2 stroke fans to speak with their wallet if they wanted something to change in regards to 2 strokes. As a result when people bought a 2 stroke they would start a thread titled "spoke with my wallet". Nice bike but 4 strokes don't count

Oh don't rain on his new bike parade. New bikes are awesome. Just riding something that feels new and different is so exciting. Peel out will agree.

As I've owned a 2014 and logged a lot of laps on the 2015, I can tell you quite a bit. First off, before doing anything just put your favorite handlebar bend on it and ride it. You'll find that the motor is all low to mid. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. It's smooth and controllable power and very fun to ride. If you like to short shift then this is the bike for you. I weigh 150 lbs so I'm way off of their target weight so the suspension was sent out. The biggest thing I rave about is the cornering, as expected. Nothing corners like a Suzuki. It's a pig to put on the stand, but that bike you can manhandle it on the track. It's light in motion, very flickable. I also put a SS braided brake line up front and a 270mm rotor on it and I absolutely loved it.

He spoke with his wallet. He doesn't give a shit about buying a two-stroke.

Perfect. That is very good to know. Interesting that you brought that up, as that is the first thing i noticed. "Man this thing is a stout bike" and honestly, it was one of the things that i was a little leery about. i had a couple friends ensure me not to worry about it because this bike will feel significantly lighter than my yz450.

Think about it this way, my current 450 has a lot of hours, its at the point where shit is starting to wear out and over the course of the next season, will probably end up costing me well over 3k, either at once, or spread out throughout the entire season. I could potentially have to tear it apart several times. Therefore, buying a fresh 450, could save me from a bleeding wallet this winter, and next season. and potentially some long, pissed off drives back from the track, and wasting another 60 bucks in fuel and entry fees. I could run this for a year or 2, sell it, and the depreciation will still not equal the cost of doing a complete refresh on my yz. So, after seeing it from this perspective... am i not speaking with my wallet?

Also, for the record, i fully understand the cost benefits of owning a 2 stroke, as i own a number of them, and love them all.

Don't get caught up in the nonsense, as an old guy that has never owned a four stroke I still love clicking on these threads no matter if they are 2 of 4 strokes. A new bike is a new bike and you are excited about it and that's all that matters!

I had a friend in Northern Nevada that has a totally stock 2014 RMZ 450 and he loves it. I never had a chance to ride it but he was always grinning from ear to ear when we returned to the pits.

Congrats and Enjoy your new bike!

Congrats man, I have stock 2012 rmz250 for a second year now, cant say any bad thing about it, had couple of false neutrals, but on my own fault mostly. Probably will put on Yoshi for next season and keep on rollin.

I have a 2013....re-sprung/re-valve the fork/added a braided brake line and over sized rotor ( the rotor came first, the brake line did the trick, so do the line first as the front brake is really bad in its stock form)

Ride....you're gonna love that bike. Oh, Also added the yellow Acerbis rear fender, it's a Suzuki after all.
