The not relevant comment always confuses me! Ask anyone in the media who gets people clicking the most.. Shit this is 2 pages and he got a very quiet 8th haha

He likely gets some of the most clicks and might even get the second most, but it's a known fact that JS7 gets the most attention in this small sport.

Can you pull James' shaft out long enough to prove this?

There's no doubt JS7, Dungey and Roczen are light years ahead of Reed as far as popularity goes. I'd even bet there are a few lites and even amateur riders that garner more attention than Reed at this point.

I'm a fan of Reed too! But I don't have this strange nostalgic tunnel vision most of you guys do.

Well I was listening to the podcast that Matthes and Weedge did talking about their rivalry (Reed and Stewart) and Matthes mentioned that Reed stories get the most clicks

Even if he's second behind Stewart, hell third behind Kenny, fourth behind Dungey still plenty relevant (not saying you don't think he is haha)

You think there are amateurs riders who get more attention than Chad Reed? Seriously, where do you come up with this stuff? With some of these off the wall comments you make and this goofy avatar photo of yours I can't figure out if I should be taking this stuff serious or not.

Go and listen. You can get some facts, and maybe you dont hate ass much after that. Or maybe you hate more.

JS7 and CR22 are the most popular guys in the sport, who is more popular? in that podcast Weege and Mathes thinks that CR22 is the fan favourite, but i dont think that means that CR22 gets the most clicks and atention.

Anyway, JS7 and Chad is good for the sport as long as they can Race in top 5 and can get on the podium sometimes.
I truly trust that they are smart enough to know when is time to walk away. Until that, i enjoy every race i get from them.

Hate me all you want but Reed's time has come and passed. Thats not discrediting him as a rider but this is a young mans sport. You cant can't expect a guy to hold the throne forever, you need to know when someone's time has come and passed.

Reed just isn't a title contender anymore, simple as that. I'll be surprised if he gets more than one podium finish next year.
I am not a Reed fan and agree he has past his prime but he does have the ability to be fast and possibly get on the box. If he wants to race and someone wants to give him a bike and pay him to race it - good for him.

And for title contenders - how many of the riders out there are title contenders anyways (maybe 5 or 6???).

Man, you might want to take off those AUS glasses. "Reed was the only legit championship rival to Villopoto in 3/4 of his championships" really? The only seasonal highlight from that list is his 2011 season, other than the Main Event wins.

"Championship contender until injury"

What does that tell you?

2014 is a stretch, but he was in form and winning until a crash totally out of his making.

2013 was awful.

2012 if you watch the season round up, he was definitely in it till that Dallas crash which I guess was near halfway–and that crash was hardly a result of over-riding...
reed was the fastest guy in the series in 2012 (i think that was the year he cartwheeled and his foot stuck to the peg?). he had the momentum and literally caught RV2 and passed him many times that season....until he ate it.

Mmmmm, if history is reviewed really it's only ever 1 or 2 after mid-way.

everyone shoulda learned by now that when you say reed is washed up and done...he comes back and strings wins together out of nowhere. He will probably do that until he retires.

No doubt about that. I cannot wait to see how Tate does in moto if he grows a passion for it like his dad. Will he leave the US to go race Australia Supercross like chad? I love these dirt scooters!!

True that. But always a hope that more stay in it past mid way.
To start this year there is RD, KR, ET, JS and TC to name a few.

What was the deal with the FMF logo being blown off? Little D and marketing ideas?

I used to like watching Reed race. Those times have passed. I get tired of hearing how he's an old guy hanging it out with the kids. It's not what he's saying it's the way he says it. Quit patting yourself on the back. He usually goes on to say he's still struggling with setup. For an old guy he's learned the new guy excuses.

Sorry Alessi knocked him over with some late braking in a slow corner in the second moto whilst running seventh on the first lap.
Maybe so but he did kick his own bike did he not? what does that tell ya? As i was sitting there watching him kick it for what seemed like eternity i was wishing he was on ktm. I think he could do well on that bike.

He's been a PC guy for so long. Maybe it had something to do with contractual obligations from 2015. Just a guess.

Last week's biggest news: Eli Tomac (officially) signed with Monster Energy Kawasaki.

This one isn’t even close. Tomac is 22 years old and capable of becoming the next great champion of this sport. His team switch is a big power shift for both Monster and Kawasaki, the perfect antidote to Red Bull riders like Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, and Ken Roczen.

Or was it?

The numbers on our site tell a different story. Web traffic says the breaking news post on Tomac's news was beaten by a breaking news post on…wait for it…Chad Reed.

Oh, yes. Chad Reed. And James Stewart. Reed and Stew. Stew and Reed. No matter what happens, they still get the most clicks.

(This is the point in the story where some will argue that Reed and Stewart are media favorites and we’re the ones making them so popular, but I'll add that we posted three stories about Tomac in total, including an interview. We did everything we could to make the Tomac news the biggest news. But the clicks really rolled in when Reed's name hit our breaking news section.)

I can argue that dungey is more popular. Pretty sure he's got the target sponsorship (huge ratailer) the Wheaties gig, oh and he won an ESPY and had a feature interview on espn. I like Reed but come on.there is no doubt JS7 and Dungey are the two most popular.
