be more excited if it was approaching summer, and he was coming back for the real racing (outdoors) - find it difficult to be enthusiastic about straight line thingy and other energy drink sideshow race

supercross is usally ok for the first few rounds- its a long wait for the gps and the outdoors!!

Are you implying that SX is not "real racing"?

its a bit mickey mouse, more of a 'sideshow' compared to the proper motocross racing. In my opinion... sure i'm not alone with this opinion either (yes I know a lot of you will think supercross is brilliant)

would be awesome to see a fully healthy #7 #41 #3 #94 #5 go at it all summer- maybe throw in a couple of gp wildcards from simpson, desalle, herlings too

now THAT would be something to get excited about!

I for sure prefer outdoor motocross but to call it mickey mouse and a side show is a bit much. Ask some former World Champions how mickey mouse it was when they gave it a go.

You're just too hardcore. It sounds so dumb and juvenile to say, but if you don't like it then don't watch it. Easy peasy

I'm more of an MX fan as well , but to call the SX series " Mickey mouse ' is crazy talk. It IS MX set in the indoors with a different type of riding / skill set. And any GP rider knows damn well that if they " could " ride it well , they would be doing it , because there is a lot more money to be made. Like I said , it's a different skill set and if your SX skills suck....don't try it. If you want to make more money in your career...you better learn it.

I don't get all the Straight Rhythm and MEC hate. Would you guys rather there be no event at all and have 0 exposure of our small sport?

People always say "The event is just made for TV, it's not even real racing." I don't think anyone is really going to disagree, but why is that a bad thing? It's an exciting event for not only the fans, but the riders and sponsors alike. The more exposure/publicity/events our sport has, the better. More entertainment for the fans and more possible paychecks for the riders. Win-Win.

MEC? Yea, I'm pumped about seeing the guys out there one more time before January. The straight line thing? Meh. Next thing you know, they'll take out all of the corners and rhythm sections and just do jumps...oh, wait

And why is that a problem for a one off event?

I love it all. If I had to throw one out it'd be straight rhythm but if the riders are racing dirt bikes I'm not complaining as long as it doesn't interrupt the SX/MX season.

As far as SX vs MX, I like them both. They emphasize two different skill sets but it's amazing that the results seem to be pretty similar for the top guys.

It's not a problem for the event it's a problem for DoctorJD and his negative attitude. Last year watching James and Malcom battle it out in the final was awesome. Looking forward to the event this year.

I'm on hold right now with Bosch trying to schedule an appointment to have my refrigerator icemaker fixed. Their effing customer service is terrible.

Thought this would be a good thread to talk about it.

"Meh" constitutes a negative attitude? Holy shit, people can't have a different opinions any more? I personally don't care for the straight-line race (or freestyle), you can like it all you want. How the hell is that a negative attitude? Damn...

I completely agree. The fans of this sport are so damn cynical it's disgusting and toxic.

I'm excited to finally see him back.

I'm a traditional mx guy too but I'm stoked to watch straight rhythm. Especially with Bubba's return.

Enjoyed it last year too. Something different.

And that's why I refuse to believe that if guys like AC222 and JH84 would want to do SX they couldn't be top notch. Although many here say they can't.

Incredible talent riding a dirt bike and hard work would make a proper SX rider.

JH said in an interview last month he isn't going to the US anymore btw.

So it would be exciting if the GP guys were racing otherwise it's a sideshow lol Can't wait for SX. It's a lot better than nothing. IMO, bubba will come back ready to fight for wins and a championship.

Exactly! Ken roczen is a prime example... didnt take him long to learn supercross...would have thought paulin would have gone state side at some point in his career though he already has the skills in supercross (wouldn't be the usual euro learning curve)

Think u need to learn to read mate was talking about the euro guys racing the odd outdooor round.... it was SUPERCROSS that i think is more of a sideshow (thats the one where they race indoors)....just my opinion. Prefer outdoor racing. Enjoy seeing the gp guys have a go at a wildcard entry outoors too . Adds extra interest to a great series

I did misread. No need to be a cock about it but I suppose you couldn't resist. I guess SX can be a sideshow in your opinion, but it is the most sought after championship in all off road motorcycle racing whether you or I like it or not.

Yeah, no point having something some of us would pay to go see in the fall...

Why that's Roger D. & Bob H. on the same track after the GP's and Outdoor Nationals... I thinks its Motocross...Woohoo
