No , sorry , was not reading this forum at that time , but if any of my Euro compatriots were participating in such scandalous deeds , then they were very naughty boys indeed .

Yes , it does sound familiar , but maybe they were just joking ?
Same deal as RV this year. A small, but very vocal minority gave the impression that the overall majority expected Roczen to walk it. But if you read back through the old threads there were sensible predictions for Roczen, just as there were for RV this year.

Trouble is, those are the posts tend to go unnoticed.

OK , thanks for the heads up ,

If indeed there were Euro fanboys hyping Roczens arrival in the US as some sort of " second coming " , then fair enough , I can hold my hands up to that one .

Sure, but usually how old riders are when they turn pro? It's a different ball game learning SX when you're under 20 than older... But at the end of the day the difference between USA and Europe is very simple, in USA there is a SX series that's even more important than the National MX, or at least on the same level, in Europe only a big MX championship with few very small and one-off SX local events, that's it...

Are you kidding me?...dude looks like me on that track and that's not good. Grinning The best racers excel at BOTH disciplines. You Herlings fanboy Euros need to get a grip. All the good GP riders that have come over were almost immediately good at SX. That's why our racing is the toughest in the world. It's easy to do one thing good, but to excel at both takes a lot of talent.

funnily enough, the rider you're laughin' at and making fun of, LAPPED 2 /3 of your best riders back in 2012. And didn't even managed to win that race, by the way.

Oh, wait...he crashes on whoops, so there must be a failure in some logical process...

Sad thing is AC would most likely look worse on a SX track than Herlings did....TODAY

For the record, That Herlings video gets thrown around a lot in these pissing contests. The fact of the matter is it's only 20 seconds long and he's hauling ass, scrubbing jumps, but his rear kicks out and he eats shit. BFD...

As everyone knows, I'm a huge RV nuthugger (no homo), and I never thought he'd go over and dominate. I DID think he'd win races and on certain tracks he'd stomp the field. Well, barring some crashes and weird stuff he did right about what I'd thought.

Win the second race and battle in top 3-4 in the others except Qatar.

I will say the tracks over there, as RV says himself, are slower and lend to closer racing between the top guys. I hope he does another year.

What point are you trying to get across? Are you trying to say every person that does this professionally should make this their total focus and not consider other things in life that are really more important. I don't get what you're saying. Is your job all you consider? Hopefully not. If so, don't know if I'd want to be your close friend or spouse (if I were female that is). Ryan is the person he is. He can't force himself to love it any more than he does. He has nothing to prove to any of us knuckle heads.

He said he was burnt out on the US scene and long schedule... so then he goes and takes on Cairoli... yes, he has no heart for the sport, and "gives up".

Again, you're a clown.

All I am saying is that I really question a the guys heart to this sport...look at a guy like Reed who is going racing on his own dime....barely breakin the top ten anymore .I wonder how many other guys would do that.

Watching Reed ride around in 10th doesn't look much like heart, looks like a team owner trying to keep his guys employed.

Everyone is different, why not just appreciate the shit RV has accomplished and be a Reed fan if that's what you like.

I was a huge LaRocco fan, not because he won everything but because he was always coming up on the next guy and never quit. RV I just dig because of his pure no nonsense approach to kicking ass. Different guys, both awesome.

RC just had nothing left to prove. He walked away from the 2007 outdoors still stomping everyone by 30-45sec.

Yesterday was the 6th June, the 71 st anniversary of the D-Day Landings on the beaches of Normandy.
Tom Hanks and his US Rangers patrol have been looking all over Normandy for RV, to bring him home. Anyone seen him?Wink

and before anyone gets all butt hurt, I have the utmost respect for the Allied service men from, US, Canada and Britain who back on 6th June 1944 for their bravery and courage during WW2 and sadly many made the ultimate sacrifice

Vey comical my friend. I'm not butt hurt by your attempt at humor. I did however have a father that served in the Navy in WWII. I'll bet the very few that are still alive wouldn't see the humor. Don't forget, had it not been for the help from those other nations, all of Europe would now speak German. There, that is my attempt at humor.

Just to clarify, rv did not go over there "to take on cairoli" or anyone else. He went over these bc he had one more year on his kawasaki contract and the krt deal helped him finish out his contract and career on a much easier note than running the grueling us schedule.

If he willingly comes back on a 1 year deal, then you could consider it taking on the gp riders

I know that was the reason, but I would think if he was dead set on retiring he could have found a way to do it, even if it cost him. Instead he accepted the challenge and didn't just go through the motions, but literally broke his ass trying to race those guys..lol.

Yes, Britain was very much involved and remain one of our strongest allies. Go read your history books though. The whole of Europe was on the brink of being controlled by the German's had the allies not been fortified by certain other countries and I named some of the others besides America. The war either time wasn't much of a concern to us. Only until we were forced to enter.

As I said, you guys are so resentful toward Americans, it is ludicrous. Imagine it how you want. I guess everyone doesn't see it the way you do. We are the most invaded country in the world, even to this day, by immigrants who come here to provide their families with a better life.

You are giving me shit for my comments. You and your other cronies have only woken up a part of me that I really didn't know existed. I don't hate other nations. I don't hate period. I just despise continuous cracks at everything American and I don't care if you agree, but it totally exists.

I don't understand anything of this Villopoto discussion. I read here and have heard the guys at pulpmx talking about RV not putting his heart into it. That is 100% bullshit. I followed RV on twitter and watched all clips from preparing and he trained hard and was completely fit. He gave it his best shot and he never said anything else himself. He knew very well that wasn't exactly going to walk all over guys like Canard, Dungey, Roczen and the same old competition all over again. He was going to race Cairoli, Desalle and Paulin to name a few on GP tracks.

He is one of the greatest ever and took on something extremely hard. He would have beaten RD5 with 30 sec any day, but guess what. The entire top 5 in MXGP would beat RD5 with 30 sec as well on any MX track on neutral ground. He faced way harder competition than he could find in the US yet he was still there speedwise and just seconds from the lead. This is actually extremely good and no less than a success for anyone knowing anything.

I am absolutely sure that RV would have stacked up some more wins and several podiums once into it and he would have been a serious title contender if he gave it another year, just because I actually think he is better than those GP riders, but not in their game right out of the box.

No, you're correct. That distinction obviously belongs to Europe. They are obviously the savior motocross and have all the most talented riders. You guys win. Enjoy!
