Eli is awesome, but this might have him down for a while.
Ever since it healed it's actually felt better than it has in the last 10 yrs.

I've popped mine out a number of times - after a week of rest it is usually rideable/raceable for me, but then again I'm slow and not doing two 30+2 motos on rough ass tracks.
Hoping for a fast recovery for him. It can't end like this.
Once it's been out though, the worry is that - like with mine - it becomes weakened, and happens over again. I've dislocated mine by rolling over in bed, for example - nevermind by flying off a motocross bike at 30 MPH. So you then start to become conscious of that and protect the arm by not using it as much, which isn't really conducive to elite sporting performance.
I had surgery on mine, and while the number of dislocations has reduced, it didn't fix it completely.
A real shame for Tomac though, if it does become a persistent problem for him. Because when you're beating the likes of Dungey and Roczen by 20 seconds every moto, then you have a legit claim to be the fastest guy in the world.
i would roll over in bed and pop it out, and i could not get it back in with out medical help, I did it first trail riding,

Even with a knee brace but if he is lucky nothing serious just pain.
That can have a long recovery time, despite how his shoulder is feeling. We won't be seeing a 100% Tomac for a while yet. Question is, if he shows up, will it be enough?
I'm as guilty as any I guess, as I've got shoulder pads (heavy duty stuff), rib protectors and back protectors that usually just sit in the truck. Knee and neck braces are the only mainstay. Most of the unused stuff was an impulse buy following a particular injury and is dismissed after the memory of the injury is gone.
I rationalize it by telling myself that no amount of protection (shoulder) is going to prevent injury anyway. If the hit is hard enough to say dislocate (or in my case break the shoulder blade, twice), then it's going to happen no matter what.
What's your experience with shoulder pads? Would they have helped Eli?
