24-0 seems a bit unrealistic considering how Dungey is. Winning half the races, I can see that. Hoping Tomac wins the title

Wow...don't listen to these Eli hatin, naysayers ! Clearly you have immeasurable intuitive skills and a knack for seeing the future. These touchy little pricks refuse to see that all the signs and stars are aligned for Eli to reek collective havoc on the Deisel and the Kroc, and all the other wannabe-Tomacs. All his bad karma has been burned off over the last few seasons with the bad starts and crashes and the universe has begun to shine on his elite ass. He is now the Dahli Lama of motorsports and as such will deliver one humble ass kicking after another to provide lessons on humility to all the other riders and the limp dick posters on here who doubt his excellence and God-likeness. Stamp it!
This seems so obvious I'm surprised no else said it. Laughing

Go Eli!

The title says it all. One "?" for each remaining round.

You Euros crack me up. Always talking crap about American posters and yes there are some rediculous American posters, but you guys throw in these cracks in posts that don't even have anything to do with nationalism. Have some hot tea and relax.

I'm not sure that Eli will ever have a perfect season. That is unrealistic, but if anyone has the ability and talent to pull it off, it surely is Tomac imo. I've said it before in other posts and I'll say it again. I honestly believe Tomac is the next great American. He still has improving to go and by that I mean, he needs to learn a little restraint at times. When he gets bad starts, he has no choice, but I feel he will get the starts figured out. When he is on, he is one of the fastest on two wheels. Is he the fastest? We will never know that because we will never have all the world's top riders in the same series for a complete season or many seasons it would take to determine this.

Love me some Tomac, but I think it is too early for this type talk. Here are other tracks that will suit some other riders well. Let's revisit this in 8 races.

As everyone else says here, he needs to be a good consistent starter and he needs to be smart. You don't have to win every race to win the championship. Good luck to him though! That first round was very impressive!!

It's very rare that you can say with confidence that absolutely no one in the world would have beaten the winner at a cretain track. But Eli was so unbelievable that there is absolutely no one that would have beaten him that day.

I predicted this thread last Saturday.

What took sooooo long?

Anyways, just wanted to get in here and add to the predictability of all of this.

Have a Great Day.

You guys do realize that whoever wins this next weekend , the next crazy threads that pop up will be that said rider will go undefeated for the rest of the season. Championship over , just give him the title already and lets go fishing or something. Laughing

Proper course of action here would've been to peck the bear's armpits while he was climbing. You live you learn.

He has the speed but I think it's highly unlikely. I always thought RV was going to get it done.

Hell no. Not a consistent enough starter. Also has his fair share of tip overs.
You can start last when you are capable of winning by 1 minute 30 seconds. Tongue

Eli is the best there is until Saturday afternoon. If he wins GH, then he gets to be the best for another 7 days, Bonus eh?

Thats correct and I am 100% with you.
And I think if he stays healthy he is the nr.1 title contender.

But what I might never get is, why is it like this.

Somebody wins and till the next race the rider or manufacturer is a super hero and will never ever loose again.
And all others are just there to fill up the starting grid.

Does anybody remember that Tomac loves Hangtown and it might not be a fair representation of his speed vs. his competition? Remember 2010, he won as a 250F rookie and didnt win again.

Will he be a top contender every moto? - Yes.
Will he be a top contender for the Champoinship? - Yes
Will he win many more motos and races? - Yes
Will he win every moto based on winning Hangtown? Seriously?

Sorry if I offended anyone, directly or indirectly, with my comments, subsequent to posting this thread. Perhaps a better title would have been, "Tomac on Another Level." I am aware that I know very little about mx compared to many of the brilliant members on this site, but responses like the first 4 or 5, in this thread, are probably best kept to ourselves. Regardless, I should have tempered my remarks or remained silent myself, and sincerely apologize.

totally possible but , hes good enough but the chances of a bike issue or any number of other things can still happen. Washougal would be a hard track for him to win on with his aggressive style

For those of you who were not there at Glen Helen yesterday, I've never seen anyone ride that track as fast. Not James Stewart, not RC, nobody. I've also never seen someone battle with a 2x national champ who has just come off a winning supercross season and then drop him like a rock. ET put 20 seconds on Dungey in 4 laps!
Seriously, Tomac could have a small mechanical failure, get it fixed, and still win.
It's going to be a long season for anyone not on a #3 Honda. Could he go 24-0? Hell yeah.

Not with a healthy Roczen and Dungey in the field.

They all will have their moments, but I expect Tomac to win the title.

Hoping Baggett can get a moto win or 2 as well.

If you look yesterday. Kroc was only like .3 off Eli for best time. RD was like .8 I believe. Eli gets one shitty start and 1 of those two get out front early the perfect season is over.

With only a bad start or simple tip over I belive no one else besides Kroc or Rd will be ahead of him.
None of the others some of you listed are anywhere near fast enough to even be considered in this conversation. Peick was 4th fastest yesterday and he was over 3 seconds slower than dungey.

Barring injuries this title come down to three people. None of the second test group have a shot in title. I would have put a healthy canard in this top tier as well. If either one of the top three go down off the start they are capable of a podium by races end!!

But hey, it's possible til he loses one right. I remember a dominating rv starting 4-0 two years ago. He came into muddy creek, got 1st moto holes shot and the lost front end not 4 corners into the race. He came through the pack pretty good but was never going to catch dungey or barcia. I think he fell once again toward the end of that race. So it's probably not going to happen.
