The standards are too fast imo.
Ready to have my first Orange bike! Somebody has got to have some inside info?!
Cylinder looks damn big! A 450 might shake things up a bit.
2015 engine for comparison
Pit Row
Can't wait to june to see the new line-up
It can come in handy for a quick restart on uneven terrain or stalls and still has the advantage of manual starting if the e start fails for some reason or gets damaged in a crash.
The extra weight to me doesn't make a difference.
If KTM brings back the 380SX, with their modern chassis, I will be lining up to buy one.
Moto, nah I'm good without it on a 2-stroke.
Up the zoom on your screen, and you will see that the rear of the barrel, is in front of the rear barrel to cases stud / nut. Compare that stud / nut positioning to the current model pictured in the posting beneath it. The cylinder / crank positioning is quite like the new 125 we've seen.
It's a new engine - well hell, I guess they've figured they've got enough use / profits from the same basic (other than the shrinking of certain parts and subtle updates) engine module they've used for nearly 2 decades. The 2 KTM 2t engine modules - the 125 /200 and 250 /300 have made them a Lot of money, with buggerall changes for many, many years. All while they've developed and sold at least 9 different single cylinder 4T ( including the split cylinder and sloper cylinder 'Bergs) engine modules.
Should be good to finally see 2 new engines - the new 125 (and sizes through to 200 from it, I hope) and the new 250 /300. It's about bloody time. I'd love a bigger than an overbored / square bore and stroke 300, but I really don't think it will happen. A bigger piston is a really cheap (for the various factories) way of giving 2T people, a 'big bore', for a good jump up in price / profit.
Finally some good photos of the bike.
In other news, that thing still has a carb.
Thanks god a carb!
Don't need a heavy and expensive FI instead of messing with a jet or needle.
But did someone notice the strange float bowl?
Definitly not looking like the standard Keihin...
