Dang what a bummer! I can't say I blame them if it was for lack of performance , but there definitely has to be something else here. It sounds like ( to me anyways ) he was doing something they didn't agree with , or possibly violated his contract in some way , shape or form?

Damn Davi , get your shit together son!

It's a surprise, but not a total shock. Davi himself was alluding to some tension behind the scenes in his interviews earlier in the season. Apparently it reached a breaking point today.

I didn't see that one coming. At least not like this.

You would have to think the team and rider were frustrated with the way the season was going but to just cut it short and end it all 2 days before the next race is odd. Like others have mentioned there must be something substantial behind the "effective immediately" part.

Maybe he wasnt holding up his end of the fitness/weight disclosure bargin and his falsely reported numbers was throwing off the setup and that created sentiment between the team and him..... nahhhhhh that can't be it.

I'm assuming there was a significant incident resulting in breach of contract.

This is a very rare occurance and, ironically, I can think of another example involving the same OEM.

Hmm, more to the story that we don't know yet. Who releases a rider with 3 races left after dumping tons of money into them.

Generally, when the decision is made to release an individual from a contract and the relationship is amicable, or the parties want it to appear as such, the words "mutually parted ways" are used in the press release.

The word terminate certainly seems to imply that Kawasaki wants to quickly distance itself from Davi.

Definitely hasn't lived up to expectations except MEC...he seems to always have an excuse about not riding well so I'm sure Kawi had enough of it.

The dude can ride circles around me no doubt but based on the past few years from my viewer perspective and knowing nobody in the industry, he would not be a rider I'd pay to be on my team. Clearly the BS around his stint with the KTM and poor Kawi riding after the MEC something is wrong with him...not the bikes.

The KTM ordeal followed by disappointing results and now "terminated".... I smell baggage..

Hopefully Davi's got his shit in check.. If not, hope he can overcome whatever is holding him back; which obviously *something* is going on we don't know about

Milsaps has always been a mystery, super extremely talented but always hiding something. His personal life is his business though.

I would love for him to lay it all out there some day and tell the truth.

I thought it was super odd he talked in an interview a few weeks ago about this "illness" and he specifically said it wasn't ordinary or he couldn't talk about it and it was taking time and would continue to get it sorted.

With all he has been through, I may be way, way off... but I wonder if it is some sort of mental or personal problem or something to that nature. I KNOW NOTHING AT ALL. Just trying to make sense of it.

Guessing something bad like he got arrested, failed a drug test or majorly exploded on someone at the company. The eords terminated tell me not good.

Has a factory rider ever been let go for performance based issues?

There has to be something else involved.

Woah! Id bet $10k he did something wrong. No way termination is based on poor results.

From championship contender to barely making the top 10. Team 22 beats them every weekend. Whoever is writing the checks for Kaw is probably getting pissed off.

Kawasaki paid Larry Wosick to stay home because he was a dick to everyone. Sad

Heard nunerous people, including his former mechanic, say that Davi is really hard to work wIth and that he lacks serious motivation. That's not from me but from someone who's been around him So this is no surprise to me.

I wonder if this is millsaps way of getting out of riding the nationals. When was the last time he raced outdoors? I know I can't remember.
