So a kangaroo court got their feelings hurt when Jimmy kept racing until they actually made him stop.....ummmmmkay.

Sounds like someone needs sensitivity counseling.

I'm sure it was asked and answered 20x's by now but amuse me. Will JS7 be able to race MEC? Since that is its own event?

As much as i like James I have no sympathy here. Anyone with a job that does randomS knows prescriptions for ADD or barbiuates will trigger a positive and you better have had your script into HR prior and they wont accept a retroactive script.. which is why so many call bullshit, don't tell me his team didn't know this
I could agree with you if drug testing at that level had been in sx/Mx for multiple seasons. I really think that no one in the pits really knew what was really going on/confused/or things weren't explained well. Other racers have said this whole thing is really confusing.

James dropped the ball on the tue. Plain and simple. You can't call it cheating cause he did have a solid prescription and wada and usda both gave him a tue as well. He got a giant dick in the ass when a kick to the nuts would have been appropriate.

Time served. Let him line up for round 1.

I can agree with you on that. For the fact that it wasn't cheating cause I don't think adderall can be used for cheating. But it was negligent & if his prescription was back date-able and not new after the testing I would assume they would have let it go. Being the FIM cannot tell their side of the story or release any information at all including what he was tested for we only know what James has told the mags. I believe there is still more to this then what we know. To what extent is totally debatable & could just be assumptive on my part

Yes, but not because it is "it's own event', but because his suspension will be lifted by then anyway.

Rules are rules but the penalty seems overly excessive to me. Considering these guys have a very short shelf life, to drag around and not make decisions, or make ignorant ones, that cost riders entire seasons of racing over something that does seem fairly simple just is ridiculous.

Wow...that makes sense. Good post.

That said, don't ever post that logical, real-thinking crap on Vital again!!! We only want rumors, arguments & innuendos around here!

Yep, the appeal is done, and we should have an answer by the 15th. In talking with some folks this weekend, apparently one thing that the FIM was really unhappy about was that James kept racing after they handed down the provisional suspension, and that they found it "disrespectful," even though there was nothing in the rules that would have prevented him from continuing to race.

It also sounds like all the other hurdles have been cleared, and that there's now a mechanism now to allow for a retroactive TUE.

While it is childish of the FIM to take James' continued racing into account, I can understand it. It is somewhat of a slap in the face. At the same time, why do they care? James and his team are the ones who wasted resources essentially for nothing. Granted, the team did get exposure for sponsors.

Essentially, by granting the TUE they did say he is okay to race with this substance in his body, now they are saying they can retroactively obtain a TUE... This means the 1 or 2 things that he did wrong are coincidentally okay but the fact that he still raced is now the reason for his almost 2 year suspension.

Well fellas, I guess that is the rules and there is nothing you can do about it. Sure seems like the AMA is supposed to be the organization that takes care of its riders. I mean anyone who races has to pay for that membership, seems like they should be the guys helping out in situations like this more. Or they should have more pull in racing.

I have heard conspiracy theories that FIM was doing this to take focus of SX and put it on MXGP. If that is true, sorry boys but next year...when RV is retired.. no one will care about whether or not Cairoli wins.. In fact, I would guess the viewership drastically decreases.

I'm not saying Stewie cheated but why something that can boost focus, concentration and keep you alert could not be used for cheating?

I think that conspiracy theory is just that. It's a convincing theory, but you won't ever get anyone in any position to admit if it's true. And it's just speculation otherwise.

And I don't think the focus moves from one series to the other per se. . . as if people are only allowed to focus on one series or the other. The GP series picked up viewership by getting RV for sure, but RV fans will still watch SX. . . mainly to come point out that Dungey only won because RV was gone based on half truths and hypothetical situations.

Whether he was "cheating" or not probably isn't the most relevant question. Was he legal or not is a better question to ask. . . The simpleton's answer is simply "no". But if you can look further than your nose, the more common sense answer is that his doctor prescribed him the medicine which is what is required to fulfill a TUE, but he did not file the TUE paperwork. . . Sure he screwed up, but 2 years for a paperwork issue. . .

The idea that "rules are rules" is the blind approach. And further, the fact that ADD medicine carries the same suspense as EPO and other muscle growth and endurance stimulants is just a fucked punishment policy. I believe the new policy they set out proves my point.

Does he have ADD or not? Who really cares? His doc says yes, so I'm not going to argue. His doctor can say he has ADD just the same as any other rider's doctors. So that point is irrelevant also.

No matter what he'll be eligible at that time. His full lenght suspension ends with about 2 races to go in the outdoor season. That means he'd be eligible to race those last 2 races and anything after that (including MEC and 2016 Supercross).

If you guys dont think its cheating are either naive or just plain stupid.

Its speed. Amphetamine. Its no different than speed or meth made in a bathtub except its made in a lab and called prescription.

Butthurt should never be a factor in any court decision. Is this more of the joke of this situation because it is more laughable than professional? Hope James already started that book so it's ready when he is fed up with this b.s.

I agree with everything you said, but I would also add that WADA's panel of phycisians, a neurologist and a phycologist all agreed he should be taking the medication. And from everything we've heard it is very unusual to get a TUE after a failed test.

As for the original question, I think the suspension will be shortened, hopefully for him and his team he will be on the line at Hangtown. But I also agree with Mitch Payton and Ozzy, an American racing series that only races in America doesn't need the FIM.

If you'd ever done speed, you'd know that riding a motocross bike would be the last thing in the world you'd wanna do whilst high. No matter what your riding level is. Trust me.

Seriously arguing about cheating and Adderall AGAIN???? Fucking retarded. The thread title is clearly written.

Listen to this guy. Because he knows how a specific drug affects his body, he knows how that drug affects everyone else.
