Why would he... That would be the equivalent of AC coming to ride the Nationals and coming to my local track to "warm up" against local pros... Makes no sense at all!

Plus, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to show his hand to those guys until race time.

Yea that's the equivalent, just about 8000km difference.

It's pretty standard for an American pro to not do any off season races other than MXON and Monster Cup, especially one of his caliber. Yes, I know some guys do off season SX overseas. I don't see RV doing any racing before the GP season starts. Wouldn't mind seeing it, but I don't think he cares.

He could show, ride extra slow to give his competition a false sense of security, then drop the hammer on them in Qatar.

Just a thought.

The race this weekend is on mainland Italy but it seems as though RV is still on Sardinia.

I think if the Kawasaki boys line up anywhere before Qatar it will be Valence in France next weekend or the Mantova Starcross in Northern Italy on the 21st/22nd.

I'm glad he is not racing, he could get hurt, yet again he could get hurt in practice riding 90%.
I give it about a 25% chance of both RV2 & AC222 being healthy enough to race every round of the series

I don't think AC will be doing Valence will he? I could be wrong I can't remember him riding there in previous years. So even if RV does ride Valence they still might not be racing each other until Qatar. Still be plenty of the other top guys there though

Cairoli will race in Italy (Ottobiano) that week-end.

Paulin and Desalle will be in Valence.

Okay thanks. I imagine the other factory KTM guys will be with Cairoli too then.

I know Frossard and Nicholls will be at Valence too, is it looking likely that RV and Rattray will be there?

You guys make it sound like RV and every other rider whom actually rides for a team......are the ones who make all the calls. The team is who makes the calls in things like this. I don't think Team Kawi is going to jeopardize a shot at a world title for these warm up races. You see Rattray or any other Kawi guy racing them?

Maybe he will , maybe he won't.

They did a great job on Ottobiano, the MX track there wasnt up to much at all when we went 2 years ago, cant wait to see them race there.

just realised that is where my profile pic was taken

It's kind of the norm for all the factory GP riders and their teams to do at least one pre-season race over here. Normally they do several.

You think he's going to show up at Qatar having not raced since April? Maybe he does, maybe he doesnt but to mock the OP like it makes no sense it ridiculous.

I'm with you up until the point that in these "local" Italian races you have guys that will run in the top 10 for the MXGP series all year and are all what we consider factory riders. Seems like if you were confident in your skills it would not be a bad idea just to get out there and blow off the webs, take a little inventory. I am sure RV will be fine, but really why not unless you are worried about giving away the unknown element come round 1 or you are simply not ready. Either way I hope he feels 100% ready to go come Qatar.

We used to have warm up races here in the States. It was the Florida Winter Series. Hannah used to destroy people there to the point everybody quit coming. He kinda did the same thing to the Trans Ama series.... Of course, back then there were fewer races in the sx and national series. I think RV is burned out enough already without adding more races to this, his last season. All you Euro's quit whining because he doesn't go about his business the way you think he should. You're all gonna get to see the back of him till your sick of it soon enough!!Woohoo
