After that I think 5 different guys were in the lead.
One of the most crazy races I have ever witnessed.
Everyone wanted him to come to MXGP but I can assure you they will hate it when all they see and hear is RV winning every race. I am convinced that is why he had so many haters around the US. No one likes to see the same person win over and over and over and over.....and over again.
Either way, last year was at MX des Nations was truly embarrassing for the US. They should have dropped Tomac down onto a 250 and included Canard in the mix.

As impressive as RVs race win was in 2011 the MXdN is not necessarily indicative of the 2015 MXGP field.
Only five of the top ten 450 GP riders were present at the MXdN in 2011. Just two of the top five were present, and of those two Cairoli went MIA with a fractured wrist.
Finishers from that MX1/Open race in 2011:

2.Dungey 2nd overall outdoors that year
3.Rattray 250 rider at the time
4.Searle 250 rider at the time
5.Guaneri 16th overall in the MX1 class that year

That's certainly not to say he won't win races by 15+ seconds in 2015 though, he may well do at some stage.
Not to mention that in the first race at that 'Nations, he was beaten by Paulin and a 17 year old Jeffrey Herlings (who wasn't even the best MX2 rider in the GPs that year).
I just doubt that Villopoto is going to dominate in the way some people think.
Roczen struggled - by his own standards - in his first season in MX Lites, despite being arguably the best 250 rider in the world when he arrived in the U.S.. But a different country, unfamiliar tracks, out of your comfort zone . . . it doesn't always make for optimal performance.
He'll undoubtedly be competitive, but at any given GP there will be a number of guys* who could beat him if they're on top form and get the rub of the green.
*Cairoli, Desalle, Paulin, Frossard, Strijbos, Van Horebeek, Searle, Nagl.
I remember that day well, RV got beat by Herlings on hard pack , and BB went an impressive 17-17 and got lapped in both races, a feat only matched by getting lapped in both moto's again at Lommel.
At least they had the sense to fix the rules since then.
