Again, someone who was there would know has said that he lost his brake, and I think that they are a pretty reliable source. You're looking at one particular moment of the race, just because his brake was working at that point does not mean that it worked all the way through.

You might see Thorpe compressing the back brake but it doesn't prove that it was working correctly. I don't see the rear wheel locking up myself.

If you listen to the podcast, he admits that O'Mara would probably have beaten him either way, so it's not as though he is trying hard to convince anyone that's what cost him the race.

I guess I'll have to bow down to the appropriately named Keyboard Warrier and accept his version of events rather than what David told me himself, on the day, to my face. I'll call him without further ado and tell him he lied through his teeth. Damn Euros.

so this thread went from something as simple as asking if RV was gonna be at a race, to people arguing about whether or not Thorpe's brakes were out and his races against Johnny O' 30 years ago?
if you pay attention to the people posting and the content, it is basically a USA vs GBR thread. which is hilarious.

Kongols you resurrected this thread twelve hours after it had petered out.

That says a lot about your own character.

All this AMA/GP bullshit... RV has a good chance of winning in the GP's. Everybody knows what he did in the past and how talented he is. But you can't think he comes over and beats Cairoli like that. Tony is 8 times world champion and a very smart guy. He knows it's a very long championship and on his bad days he is stil top 5 normally.
Desalle, Paulin and a few other may have had the speed to beat Cairoli once in a while but in the end it was always Tony to be crowned as world champion.

So Villopoto must not only be fast, he must be very concistent as well. I personally think he can be the new world champion but it won't be easy, no way. Let's just hope we get to see good fights between RV2 and AC222 and maybe guys like Paulin, Desalle and Nagl. That's all that mathers to me actually. Good fights and maybe a new (American) world champion.

C'mon man...you're no different than them spewing this crap. I do agree that IF the title goes to RV, it seems the Brits will take it harder than anyone else here which is pure comedy to me.

Your location states America, yet you are not posting like an American.

Are you a migrant? Have you lied about your location? Are you drunk?

You do realise that what you have said puts you in grave danger!? Hell, you're in more danger than a pro-Gay Marriage Russian.

Looking at his nickname , he's from the Netherlands and is a huge De Reuver fan Laughing Laughing

BTW he was spot on with his post , no walk in the park for RV but he's so fast and talented that he has a good chance of taking the gold plate stateside...

Hahaha, got ya.

I knew it was too good to be true Wink

I totally agree though, I don't think anyone actually thinks deep down it will be a walk in the park for one or the other. They are both super talented and will have good and bad tracks.

I am just pumped for the season and hope it's injury free. that would suck for everyone involved.
