JMB won 2 world titles and 3 AMA titles in 4 years, then retired from MX and became a very successful Grand prix rider in road racing. In terms if sheer badassery at racing at motorcycle he'll always be the GOAT in my opinion. I know it has nothing to do with RV, but niether did O'Mara and you brought that up

So they go off the word of others. Just like I have. Pretty hard to determine who is better than who when you've never seen them race for yourself. All you know is the legacy you have heard if you didn't see it for yourself.

I remember all those great days of MX.Thorpe was indeed the current "king" as he'd demolished the feild the previous year but O'Mara passed him at Maggiora for an amazing win,a scene he revisited recently as mentor to Covington,the crowd gave him a great reception as they did back then in 86

Sometimes people have to remind Thorpe that he lost his brakes midway through,something the softly spoken,respectful Brit rarely brings up.
