Doesn't James currently have the TUE? 16 months for not getting prior approval seems a little steep.

Regardless if you think the AMA would've done any better or worse, I think it's funny to suggest the FIM isn't a European organization because they have a few people from different countries working there. It's like the GPs... they have a few races outside Europe but people still say RV is going to race in Europe. There's even a Renthal ad in this forum with RV saying EUROPE2014 haha.

Ha, NFL run by Billionaires gives a 4 game suspension for adderal, MX/SX run by Millionaires gives a 16 month suspension for adderal. Un-frickening real - and I'm not a JS7 fan!

Don't kid yourself, lots of riders ran big bores back in the day.

Not some BS 16 months , He didn't rob a bank.
Finally someone who understands the Fim...Giuseppe Luongo is one of the most shady people in this industry along with a few others over there on the Fim commission, I guess theres a reason they cant fill in that head spot...

Please tell me what "crime" was committed Yes, he failed to get the TUE before hand, however he has a prescription for it. Old saying, however doesn't fit the bill.

International = europe. They have like 30 countries over there so they say things like 'world' and 'international'.

Im gonna go as far to say that if Cairoli tested positive for anything he wouldnt be penalized to this extent.
I am in total agreement with you. This is pure, unadulterated bullshit and needs to be fought.

Aggressively.

Just read the PR on the racerX

They made James Stewart fly to switzerland to be heard by a Indian Judge at a Best Western!! That screams legit and we do care.

"In consideration of Article 8.1.1 CAD and Article 3.3.2 of the FIM Disciplinary and Arbitration Code, Mr Stewart was heard by the CDI during a Hearing at the Best Western Hotel at Chavannes-de-Bogis, Switzerland, on 23 October 2014."

this is stupid.. James should be able to race.

The AMA won't do anything... So the fans should simply not show up at SX races. That would send a clear message to the AMA.

First off this ban is bullshit. The drug isn't the issue because he can carry on using it when he gets back. The issue is he didn't have a piece of paper filed with someone. Yep, it was f**k up, maybe even deceitful but a 16 months ban, seriously?

Seems to me that the power to do something about this is with the SX owners. If they need the FIM then they need to go with this. If they don't need the FIM (and I can't really see why they do) they can just decide to ignore it, drop the World Championship tag, issues their own race licences (ok, it's more difficult than that I know) and get on with things with JS7 behind the gate.

The FIM looks a lot like an organisation that exists to serve itself; if they can do something to increase their power they will. I'm not sure what the FIM's plan is here but it doesn't look like it has much to do with their primary aim - to assure sporting behaviour.

I'm not really sure why Stewart can't ride the outdoor series - it's not AMA/FIM so they can do what they want within reason. I'd say hold a great big FU up to the FIM come the outdoor season (but I'm not the guy back in Suzuki Japan who's just committed a small fortune on a Moto GP team).

The reason Youthstream get away with so much is because there's no credible 'opposition' and they have the absolute support of the FIM. It really is time the manufacturers and After Market industry held the FIM to account and forced some changes. The FIM has abused its power here and that's a dangerous thing to allow unchecked.

And... What on earth is it with some of you American folks - how can it possibly be my fault that James Stewart is banned from SX? It's not Europeans who did this its the FIM (whose members may or may not be from Europe).

The president of the FIM is from Venezuela - thats a hell of a lot closer to America than it is Europe.

If Stewart had a prescription before the piss test then I agree the 16 months is excessive, now if he got the prescription after he got caught then 16 months is fair considering 8 months of it was time served. All depends on when he got the prescription from a Doctor.
