If it's a 14 it has the older OC WP forks

Pretty sure it has the closed chamber forks. The Enduro bikes had the 4cs forks
with different valving previously.

I could've sworn the one that I worked on had the same forks as my 13 KTM 250SX came with.

I called the dealership.. they told me the 14's have the old WP stuff and the 15s have the new 4cs.

So I'm new to the forum!! My friend shane is a member here and I decided to make an account. We recently built shane a better version of my ktm that I had. SUPER bad ass ktm 250sx. Except he was way more frivolous and blinged it to the moon. But my bike still had the 300 kit Smile . I recently sold my 2012 ktm in the dream of owning a brand new bike. I had my bike pretty dialed and and it was so sad to see it go! But I got something I knew I was going to be able to work on and have some basic knowledge about. Something so new and so fresh that I had to have the first one!! Here it is, Brand new TC250!!

The only thing I've done to it is change my bars and grips and I put a fmf factory pipe with shorty silencer. The motor is a clone to the 2014 ktm 250sx. I rode it down the road today and man the thing is absolutely gutless. Very dissapointed in ktm's lack of jetting and the stupid boyesen reed cage! JUNK!!!!!!

I changed my jetting to what most ktm gurus know as the "DIGGER SPECIAL" thanks to the one and only Digger! 40 pilot NECJ needle 175 main and a 6.5 slide in the stock 36mm carb for know untill I can save up the funding for the 38mm carb and the 300 kit again, oh and my v-force reed cage!

I can't wait to ride!! Hopefully my graphics come in soon so I can get rid of those ugly yellow fork gaurds!!

You guys are crazy thinking the yellow fork guards look bad! Yellow looks f-ing awesome on those bikes. If I had one I'd find a yellow seat cover for it

The only thing that looks bad on the bike is the front fender. I would buy a white ktm front fender
10/26/2014 8:30am
I switched to the new front on my KTM 350 and it does look great.
The Husky fender does look a bit larger than I had noticed before.

Huskys are the best looking new bikes out there.

The word I am getting is the Husky are different than its KTM cousins in detail and set up plus a different subframe streamlining the feel of the bikes.

Husky's are getting for production all of the hot set ups KTM racing has discovered .

out of curiosity, how many do you have to buy to make it worth wild on a custom formed set like that of silicone?

They're the PHDS bar mounts from KTM. Although it's actually an X-trig made product. So either source has them. I believe the KTM ones retail about about $200-210 before any discounting.

And it's money well spent...

I guess I have to disagree with the gutless comment.
I came from an 01 RM250 and this things has WAY more power.

Suspension was a bit off.

I went 5 click harder on the compression up front.
Not sure what my suspension guy did out back. I know he slowed the rebound down a few clicks and I think he stiffened up the compression but honestly not sure.

oh and I didn't like the stock graphics in the pics but once I went and picked it up.. I kinda like it now.
I may keep the color scheme the same.. I was originally going to do it all red and white.

I really dig my TC. What gearing is everyone running? Right now I've got a 13/50. Stock is 13/48, and i'm thinking about dropping down a tooth from what I have now and using a 13/49 ratio. Anyone know if a 6th gear can be added in addition to the standard TC transmission? I know the TE has a 6th gear, but I like the tighter spacing of the TC.

I heard the 15's come with a 6th gear, I should have waited do'h!

What kind of deals are you guys getting on the Huskys? I'm still torn between a new YZ or KTM/Husky. I've found some good deals on the Yamaha but so far no one seems to be discounting the Husky at all.

Try 14X50. It's what I ran on my 13 250SX before the 300 kit and still run it on my 15 300SX. It spreads everything out nicely and you'll definitely be shifting less.

I got my Husky through Donnell's Motorcycles. It was listed at $6,299, but it appears those rebates are over with. The price has sense gone back up to retail.

Digger: I may have to give that a try. The stock gearing is really tight for woods. I'm trying to get the most out of 2nd and 3rd. I don't want to be in first unless it's an emergency, but I also want 5th to have decent top-end.

Your jetting specs are spot on. I love it.

I did the same you did going to 13X50 and I did it based on MXA's 250SX test and it was terrible. I was in 5th gear in what seemed like 25' out of every turn and worse than that was I always felt that I was in the wrong gear in a turn and felt the need to shift halfway through some turns. I then went to a 14 countershaft and I'm telling you to do yourself a favor and try it. Yes you'll bog your bike a cpl times in a tight turn here and there but you learn not to and then you realize that it was definitely the way to go. It makes 2nd and 3rd way more usable.

I was switching gearing for different tracks and the 14X48 was soo good on starts I run it all the time on my 250sx. Second pulls so far that everyone else is shifting and you pull on them. I forced myself to ride this gearing on my own tight, practice track with 1;30 lap times. I had ridden so many laps with the stock gearing, my speed was stuck. With the taller gearing I went so much faster in several sections. Now I am use to the gearing and am totally comfortable with it. The motor is so well matched to 2nd and 3rd. I had a guy with a 15 250sx keep telling me he wanted to gear his bike down. He hopped on my 13 and it blew him away how much better the motor pulled everywhere. All the little things add up to big gains on the track.

not a chance!! I LOVE the front fender. Personally, I think the KTM fender is the worst looking front fender of any bike.. but that's just my $.02

I paid $6142 OTD on my 14 from Moto CIty in west phoenix, az.
It was the last one around though.
Try Munn Racing in Texas. They can get you a 14 for about that price shipped.
