Since the OP screamed the thread title I've got to think it's stamped! I love this move, when RV2 is retired with his feet up he won't be having any , "I wonder what the GP's would have been like to run", thoughts. I think the Euro's are going to shit when they see his full moto intensity, though he may get some surprises of his own? He can take the rest of his career a year at a time, win world championship, check. "Should I come back home and clean house? Do another GP tour? or "go fishing," for good? This has win win written all over it and will shut a lot of peeps up on both sides of the pond IMHO.

I'm european and the last GP's I followed were Chiodi fighting the 125 title, Bolley/Pichon/Beirer the 250 and Everts/Smets the 500.

Then I rooted a little bit for Pourcel and Cairoli in the MX2.

So it's been 8 years of not giving a shit on that.

They finally caught my attention IF RV gets there and starts kicking some asses.

There was never a press release saying he would race. All he said was "as of now we are racing". That's a bit different then a press release and signed contract.

Ryan's swan song, won't finish the season. Will be sad to see someone who was once a exceptional rider be demoted to top 10 finishes but at least he has the manhood to step up and leave the comfort zone of groomed tracks and easy schedules and simple racing he's been use to in the USA. Hopefully he goes out in style, good luck.
Ugh.

Go away.

If and that is IF it is true that RV does the GP's next year it will be interesting to see how he does. I have heard it said by people I believe know more then I that nobody is going over there and winning a championship the first year. I have also heard them say that nobody was coming to the Nats and winning a championship the first year. So if that is true, he had better plan on a couple or few seasons there if he wants to win a championship. Personally I think it can be done in the first year if one goes prepared, so to me it will be interesting to see what happens if and only if this is true. Its all probably hot air.

RV pretty much has any track figured out/dialed after practice and quali's. No excuses. If the Sicilian beats him it will most definately be "straight up". If it goes the other way....well, we know what that means as well.

I want to see if AC really knowing the tracks has as big of an impact on the results as I think it will. I don't think it will be fair to judge RV if he dosen't do well at the first 3 or 4 races because it might take him some time to figure everything out, but he will.
Weren't GP riders of a lower B class no compare with AMA boys? Now if they win it's cause they know the tracks? Not because they're good enough, no definitely not lmfao...

If RV does go to europe, it's going tuff after what i saw today from the europe's guys. AC222 was on another level out there, the european guys are underrated to be honest.

Everyone around the sport were saying that they were hearing he wouldn't race nationals (even with his denials)...and it was true!
Now everyone around the sport is saying he'll be lining up for the GP's.....

Judging by this guys 3 posts, he set his location to somewhere in the states yet live in europe (all 3 are bullshit facts hating on team USA) and or just moved to the states from europe.

Dude's just trolling in for this weekend bro.

If Villipoto continues to ride and does go to the GPs I say he wins first time round then hangs up his boots and dissapears from the scene. I also think some of his wins will be by huge margins.
I have been wrong in the past though.......once!

There's no such thing as a nice ride to the Top of the World. That's a nasty climb. Smile

left the main series too soon imo. if it's a matter of motivation then he has to follow his heart, but one more season in US would have been prefered.

I'm curious to see if other top riders follow RVs lead and cross the pond too. What does this say about MXsports? They take over the series and lose their top rider. It will be intersting to see if the MXGP will become the premier series of the world in the near future!Shocked Giuseppe Luongo may be on to something!

Just a few thoughts from a simpleton, but a very competitive one. Why not go to Europe? What does he really have to lose? His place as one of the best to race MX/SX is locked in.... BUT there lies the problem!!!! "one of the best" he will never catch up in SX and dethrone the king of supercross.... He will never catch the goat and be the best in motocross. He can stay around here and wear himself out with the yearly grind and make a killing and be "one of the best ever" OR he can head across the pond and do something NO ONE has ever done! He goes over and kills it and beats an icon like AC on his home soil...... Then where does that leave his legacy years down the road? Does doing something no one else has done move him from "one of the best" to possibly the best??? And what happens of he goes over and doesn't crush it? He tried to go to a new environment, new travel, new Customs, new food, new training schedule, new tracks.... Something no one else has tried, with a hundred reasons/excuses why he didn't win. .... AND he still comes home to his current legacy of "one of the best" ever. If you look at it that way, really has nothing to lose.......
