I haven't seen any in the pro ranks. Is the auto clutch (Rekluse) more of a novice type "help tool" to make riding easier?

I have read that there are probably more than you think out there. Perhaps some that are running them...but with a clutch cover that doesn't indicate this. Maybe someone in the know can either confirm or correct me on this because I definitely have no idea.

Ask Max Anstie about that. Stalled it twice with one while leading?

I saw a video where Jimmy Albertson runs one.

I have been thinking about one for my KTM 530, But I'm an off-road guy. If they work as advertised I see no reason one wouldn't work in SX. Stalling you bike in a 4 minute race is a big deal.

That is not entirely true. He didn`t stall it.

I know a few big name off-road guys they sponsor who don't use the auto clutch but do use the basket and covers.

If u watch closely u will see some riders ride up to their mechanic or crew after the race and come to a stop, without pulling the clutch in, Alessi did it in Indy, and someone else did it last week in Atlanta.

Last year I saw that happen to James twice. Never touched the clutch lever.

Riders using them on Rekluse.com.
Do any other companies make them?

RV has to use one. That bike never stalls after a crash.

Back in the two stroke days didn't people usually have to kick start their bikes after a soil sample? Last few years the majority of the bikes rarely stall. High idle or auto clutches?

Would the auto clutch prevent a nasty crash if the engine locked up? Would it just free wheel and save a trip over the bars?

Great question - if you lock up the brake and skid to a stop the motor is suppose to keep running.

I have 2 Rekluce EXP -3 on the bench right now for my two bikes -they go in next weekWoohoo

The only reason I have been holding off on one of these is the cost. I think it would help a ton in endurocross, but I can't justify spending the money.

I think it will free wheel if the motor locks up. Here is a good dirt rider article on them...

The best thing about my rekluse, is that I don't even know it's there until I need it. I guarantee that if you rode my bike and I didn't tell you there was a rekluse in it, you wouldn't know it was there.

Rekluse sponsor several top supercross riders that use their auto clutch (exp 2.0...now 3.0). Check their website.

There is ZERO downside to these clutches (besides the price). And often te same people that complain about the price are the same people dropping a grand on an exhaust system that will do nothing for their results.

Agreed. My friends still think that it will ride different. But I have mine set up so well it's just like a normal clutch but I can skid and tap the rear brake in the air without the clutch. I would imagine that KTm or even Hinson have some version of their own.

A slipper clutch is one thing. An automatic clutch is something completely different. Are the majority of the pros using a slipper or an automatic?

With the EXP Core I tried on another KTM in 2012 I used the std cover. The Rekluce cover came with my EXP Core 3. I have done any measuring to see if there is a slight height difference. My guess that the covers should be the same as the brake lever has to clear the cover.

I have one in my 06 CRF450, uses the stock cover, EXP 2.0. Do it, you will love it.

I remember JLaw using some sort of slipper clutch for less engine braking at outdoor serie. Slip clutch gives less engine braking like 2-stroke wich helps over braking bumbs by keeping front end lighter. I think in MotoGP they are standard parts to use. You can adjust level of slip also.

If you watch RD5 video, that could be just new normal clutch wich is not "free" yet. You can see rear tyre spinning if you put your bike to stand and give rews.

There were also larger Rekluse clutch covers to allow more oil and better cooling for automatic or orginal clutches.
