I've been riding a 2011 Camber 29PRO for a couple of years and it 's such an amazing bike! I raced from duatlon to enduro events. Doesn't excell in any particulary purpouse, but you could do almost everything. Anyway I just sold it and picked up a 2014 Stumpjumper comp. Now I only need my knee lets me train again...

Hey Jonny, sure I'm a member of PB and didn't post my bike in your thread only because I was hoping to buy a new Dorado fork and CCDB shock and then post new pics. But I don't have the money yet...

2012 Specialized Camber Comp 26. This is my first FSR and I have really enjoyed it, plus I think it looks great. I just got it back from the shop where I had it all tuned up and ready to go for another season.

Agreed! As an impoverished college student in the early 1990s I could not afford an Alpinestars. Instead, I was riding this:

I bought the cro-mega frame/fork/stem/bar on eBay. The bottom bracket was seized in the shell, and nothing would shift it. We even broke the vice in my local bike store in the process:



At this point I should have said "enough". Instead, I did what any self-respecting idiot would do, and sent the frame away to a restorer (Argos Cycles). They installed a new BB shell and did a stunning respray. Naturally, I spent far more money than was sensible, but the result was worth it. I nearly cried when I opened the box!

It's been rebuilt with mostly NOS Shimano DX components, and I've also got a set of Manitou 2 forks which I'll fit if the fancy takes me. The wall on my office will look empty if/when I decide to get rid of it.

I rode this yesterday! 20 years old and rides great. Trek 970 with a Judy XC fork, XT and XTR components. It still does great for our mild trails! This other bikes posted are straight up awesome! I can't see spending money when this one is still kicking.

Wow i wish we had Downhill around here! I should have never looked at these bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man they are like works of art. One thing though, you guys need Oury grips! the 11 dollar normal grips are awesome, I tried the clamp on grips and hated them.



Anyone tried oury lock on grips? Do they feel the same as the regular Oury's?

My latest mountain bike. Its only been ridden in the dirt a few times - I got it just before we got most of our snow.
Its a Independent Fabrication custom steel 29er frame that I built with a SID fork (decals removed for the stealth look) , XTR components and Roval Carbon SL wheels.

The Bronson is similiar to the concept of the Blur, A do-it-all bike or Enduro as they now call them. Although the Santa Cruz Solo would be a better modern match to the Blur. The Solo can go up and down pretty well, let's say 50/ 50. Where as the Bronson having 2mm more fork stanchion, more travel, longer chain stays, and 1 degree slacker head angle is more like 30% up and 70% down. It's all about your preferences but at times climbing on my bike gets a bit tedious. And I do wish we had some downhill around here. The big difference is the Blur is an old school 26" and the Bronson is the newest school 27.5" and the frame geometry was adjusted to maintain ideal geometries w/ the larger wheel size.

My first bike (bought maybe 8 months ago) was a 26" and frankly I hate the 26s compared to the larger wheel sizes for the huge rocks and roots we have here in ATX. Twice as much work, and way more accidents for me. The better roll over due to a lower approach angle of a larger diameter tire is not a subtle difference. when you hit 1000 bumps every single mile of your ride. I do find 29s a bit big and cumbersome on our tight trails around here but that would be my second choice in wheel size or my first if I was 6' 2" +.

Id agree with your description of the Bronson as I own one as well. The one thing that Id like to add however is how well the bike pedals. If you ditch the stock 2.35's and put on something more xc trail, it still makes an excellent trail bike for some one who likes to ride a little more aggressive and moister truck over things. I liked mine enough that I sold my Felt Nine3 and will ride the Bronson exclusively this summer

Its nice to see a revolt still going strong after the well documented issues it shows that they really did make some good ones and the ones that were right were great bikes. Theres a couple of revolt owners on there your bike will look awesome with dorados and a ccdb. Id love an undead my last dh bike was a scalp I loved it but it just didnt get used as much as the giant trance I had at the time so I opted to sell up and buy an uprising ive got it configured for dh just finished it today cant wait to get out a rip on it.

That's good info. I bought my Bronson barely used from a Santa Cruz employee and it has Hans Dampf Schwables and they are some large and heavy tires.

They stick great when the trails get going a bit downhill around here and I can build some speed. They also crawl up rock ledges very well.

But when I ride the bike down the street it feels like I have motocross knobbie tires dragging me down. Incredible amount of resistance.

I'll replace at least the rear w/ something a little more XC oriented when it's due.

I'm hoping to get the bike out to Colorado this summer for some downhill action. which is why I went w/ such a burly bike instead of something a bit more lithe.

Good call. Im probably going to try some Racing Ralphs and see how they go, and leave the stock tires for DH days. Ive got two decent spots for downhilling within 60mins from my house. At the end of the year I rode with my buddies who were all on 8" Travel Full DH bikes and all of whom race at a high level here in Ontario. I really didn't get left behind unless it was a super rooty run. Throw the bike on a slope style / a-line eque run and you'll be in heaven.

Favourite bike Ive ever owned and Ive had quite a few.

Thanks Gabriel J - My local shop is an IF dealer as well as Specialized and Trek. They measured me for the new frame and always take great care of me.

Yep, that's me! I'll keep an eye out for you over there. Been on there more and more since I ended up selling my MX bike. Gotta be on two wheels one way or another!

My friend actually raced for IF back in the day...I always dug their frames and if I had the extra money when I built my Lynskey SS I would have loved a Ti deluxe SS.
