The time has come for him to start acting like a professional. Many have already stated this. I'm tired of this "they are just kids" shit. When you are a rookie in any other pro sport, you go to classes to learn about the league, its rules, and the expected code of conduct. If you fail to live up to these obligations, they come down on you hard and ignorance is no excuse. See the NFL! They do not fuck around.

We need to start having higher expectations for our "professionals". And the AMA needs to start governing like they mean it. What if, for example, the medical crew was on the ice tending to a NHL player who was down, and some fucking goon came full bore and "sprayed" them full of ice (by coming to a full stop with their skates spraying ice). What would the NHL do-suspend the guy and it could cost him tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. And they could fine the team too, just like the Saints got fined.

Here-fine the kid 25k, fine the team 25k (he is their employer and they haven't done a very good job of educating the kid about his professional responsibilities), and suspend him for one race. Then lets see if anyone else wants to act like a 5 year old.

5k? A fucking joke. Lets stop enabling this kind of behavior and lets see this sport do a little growing up. This isn't chicken licks raceway. What about NASCAR? Break the rules, pay the price.

I'm sure he is full of remorse. Too late. That ain't good enough right now.

Because he rode around him in the whoops CLEANLY, only to be rode high in the corner, knowing the "guy" was gonna race like that, he shut him down.

I thought RC explained that sufficiently.

This is why I don't talk to guys with FOX stickers on their trucks

What the hell are you talking about? RC was racing dirt bikes this weekend not calling SX.

I was asking why Barcia jumped across the track while Vincent was next to him.
Because Barcia was riding the same line that every single person was taking the entire night. Pretty much every rider landed on the left side of the track at the landing of the triple and either jumped from the left side of the track back to the inside right of the corner, and if you didn't do that you stayed straight left on the outside.

Barcia did that exact same line every single lap, but the difference on this particular lap is that Vincent was being lapped, landed on the right side of the triple landing where basically nobody was landing, then cut back hard to the left to take the outside line. He actually got a burst of speed after the triple and pulled back up on Barcia when he decided to cut all the way across the track and run into the back side of Barcia. I was sitting right there and saw it all unfold before me. It was pretty obvious Barcia had the pass made and Vincent came back on him.

People like you, who blame the leader for getting taken out from behind by a lapper, losing 50K+ in the process and being upset about it. That's some retarded shit.

Thank you.

You really don't get it. It wasn't being upset, the crash etc that is the problem. It's his tantrum afterwards that's the issue. I don't blame him for any of the stuff referenced. Hell he even acknowledged the problem and apologized in his interview. To continue with your confusion of the issue is some "retarded shit" to use your words. Not mine. Perhaps what you characterize as vital's "bad rep" is brought about by posts ignoring the bad behavior even if the rider doing it admits to it. Just a thought.
Yes, I really do get it. You obviously don't.

Have you ever been taken out by a lapper?

OR, by someone in a lower division, OR someone cutting across in the air, in a race that you consider a BIG deal. Emotions take control. I love it! Shows emotion and that these guys care. I appluad!

If so, what was your emotional state immediately following that event. I would've done much worse. Obviously you guys don't understand the dissapointment, not PAIN that controls emotions.

So your position is that being upset/emotional for any of the items you mention is carte blanche excuse for all behavior.....interesting ....

It was in the heat of the moment. The kid had the race won by the time he calmed down and got on the podium yeah he realized he did something wrong. Where were all you guys last year when Villopoto tried to fight boni after Jax last year. This whole thing is blown out of proportion. Suspend the kid for a race for being upset because a lapper took him out. Who wouldnt be pissed at that. That easily could of been the championship whether he crashed and broke something. His crash that broke his wrist last year was similar to what happened saturday night. The kid is killing it and he is going to have a lot of haters. He was in the wrong and deserves some sort of disciplinary action but not a suspension for roosting two people.

From where I was sitting it looked like Vincent didn't give Barcia enough room while being lapped and he actually caught back up to Barcia and hit him in the air after Barcia had passed him. And he was right to be pissed, but wrong to roost Vincent and the medical crew. He roosted Roczen just like Roczen roosted him a few weeks ago.

Roczen didn't roost Barcia, he roosted Durham and that didnt seem to bother anyone at the time. There are no excuses, however, or reasoning for roosting a downed rider. That is unacceptable. Very unprofessional behavior on his part which I am sure he regrets.
Agree. Barica was absolutely wrong for doing it to a downed rider.... so he deserved to get fined.

Was just thinking the same thing about Roczen throwing a fit and roosting Durham when I read Roczen's tweet. These guys are very competitive and young, so they are going to make stupid mistakes like this. But because it's Barcia all the guys on here that hate him are calling for his head.

So it's ok for Roczen to roost Durham

but..

$5,000.00, for Barcia to roost Roczen

and

$0.00 for AMA to have ANY balls?

The fine on Barcia was regarding roosting Vincent, who was being attended to, and the medics! Totally different situation.

Roczen was actually doing a little taunting from the podium, waving to Justin. There's really no love lost there.

Who knows maybe I don't have a clue, but I'm not clueless enough to see that roosting a downed rider after a race is over paints the sport in a bad light. It looked like a clown show out there. I've seen tamer WWE shows. The sport can't grow with stuff like that going on.

By the way I'm only referring to the Vincent aspect of this. Roosting Roczen isn't a big deal in my eyes, not very classy but whatever. Roczen rooster Durham so he shouldn't be mad when he gets a taste of his own medicine. But a guy being looked at by medics? I cannot see how any sane person would think that's acceptable for a 5 year old, let alone an 18 year old professional athlete with 2 and a half seasons experience. He's not a rookie guys he knows what's right and wrong.

My opinion on the crying apology is that the tears were from being angry that he lost and the strong talking to that I hope someone gave him. You don't think the sponsors have a problem with what he did? Two words: Damage control.

I lost all respect for Barcia after this move, and he still continues to pull questionable moves every few weeks. There seems to be a pattern, but I guess whatever works for him. I am sure he couldn't care less what we think.

Aranda jumping across the track taking out a bunch of riders was way dirty! He deserved to be knocked down- this a bad example!

Barcia is just a product of his environment- This kind of thing will continue to happen more and more in the coming years. These days, your likelihood of going pro without growing up at a training facility, are rather slim. Unfortunately, these kids spend hours and hours learning how to ride, but no time learning how to behave. If you think I am wrong, just spend a week at the Mini O's or LL, you can usually spot the "fast" kids easily by their actions in the pits!!
