For all you idiots saying "Dungey took it to far" need to go back and watch the tape again in slow motion. Poto came out of that corner so squirly and off balance that the freak'n wind would have knocked him over. That and if he actually followed the line he intended to Dungey probably would have only given him a simple love tap.
So what if Dungey had a bit of an off night!! How pissed would you be if you threw your #1 spot away for a #6?

Second of all. Oh. My. Gosh. You people are impossible to please! He's not aggressive enough. He then puts in 3 block passes (one unsuccessful) and now it's too much. What do you want?!
Kinda gotta agree with Grieby here.

You just can't please everyone I guess. Bummer he went down ( and RV too ) in one of the pass attempts.....but I really liked seeing that kind of aggression form RD. It's about time!

RV said in the pits after the race he's gonna park that guy next chance he gets. Hopefully it's not in the main.

Depends on what definition one is using for being more aggressive. It could be: taking guys out, or riding at the very edge of ones ability. It seems that riding on the edge may be better than taking guys out as the later increases retaliation. But hey, it's not my call.

There's a big difference between being aggressive and being Friese/Hansen on steroids.

I'm one of Ryan's biggest fans, and along with a lot of his critics, I wish he was more aggressive at times, but last night I really didn't like what saw Ryan doing in regards to putting guys on the ground, himself included when he tried to take RV out at the finish. I think there is a very fine line between aggressive passes and aggressive take out passes.

The passes that Jason Anderson and Cole Seeley put on each other in the first two rounds, I thought were awesome, I just like it when a guy can throw a hard pass on a guy and not put the guy on the ground or in cheap seat or send him to Hospital.

That was the thing I liked the most about Jeremy McGrath, was how well he could throw a pass on a guy, and barely touch him in process.

When I see someone put the guy he's passing on the ground during a hard block pass, it just seems cheap to me, about the only way I can handle it is, if the rider getting put to the ground, has done a bunch of crappy block passes to the guy dishing it back to him, like Tomac did to Wilson awhile back, and again I really like Wilson, but I didn't like the take out passes he was giving to Tomac, and when Tomac threw it back to Wilson and put him on the ground, I felt like he got what he deserved, but at the same time, I felt bad and hypocritical about it, because Wilson ended up getting pretty seriously hurt and was not able to defend his outdoor title.

And I guess that's the point of my rant, I like to see good hard racing, with lots of great passes, but without out guys taking each other out and putting guys on the ground and possibly hurting them.

Anyway I'm sure there is going to be a lot of you guys that will disagree with me on this, so lets hear what you have to say on this subject.
It was an attempted block pass and RV just wasnt letting up so in a way RV took them both out

Dunge gave the look back after he took out Tickle. That is disrespectful.

He laid him out, too

I say about time on the Dunge's new style. I'll bet RC, MC, RJ, and Hannah are saying the same thing. Those guys where all aggressive, and had more than their share of incidents like that. The Tickle pass was aggressive, and unfortunately, Tickle went down. I don't think it's Dungey's MO to look back as if to say "take that bitch". I'll bet it was more of a "shit, did I just take Tickle down?" type of look. The pass of Hill was textbook perfection. Dungey's bike could have been a red Honda with a #1 on it and I would have sworn that was McGrath out there riding. The last corner pass attempt on RV could have been a twin to the pass on Hill, but as mentioned above, RV and RD came together and Boom. As far as RV saying in the pits that RD will get his next week, he may want to rethink that. He's got WAY too much to lose getting into a shoving match out there. I can't wait to hear what some of the former champs have to say about his riding. I'll bet though, that most of them don't see anything wrong with his riding Sat. night. Here's a thought, is it possible that Dungey's riding style has been so predictable in the past that any rider that see's him coming won't give an inch and that's why there is more contact than there should be. After all, when RV get's near just about anyone, they practially pull over and let him by. Why do you suppose that is?

When you haven't had much practice, you're not very good.

Watching Ryan hit people was kinda of awkward, and I felt a little ashamed afterwards.
Crush, I totally got it that way too. He didn't look comfortable being that aggressive, mainly because he's never much been that way. Yeah, I think he went a bit too far...but practice makes perfect. He'll learn to have a bit more finesse before long...if he doesn't just forget the whole aggro thing.

And, yeah, I felt a little let down too.

Looks like, from the look back at RD that Villopoto gave him after that last lap get together...Ryan was a little ashamed of him too.

The passes on Tickle and Hill were for the final transfer spot, one on the last corner of the last lap. There was nothing dirty about that. The one on Villopoto was for 5th place on the last turn of the last lap against a championship rival. Anyone else would have attempted a block pass there too. He didn't take it too far at all.

If it's true about Villopoto saying he will park him next chance he gets, then he is a hypocritical baby. He finally got paid back for 2010 St. Louis. These guys aren't intimidated by him anymore. It started with James at the Monster Cup and it has continued with Roczen, Brayton, and Dungey this year. Nobody has fought him this hard for positions since Reed in 2012.

Proof that you can't make everyone (or sometimes anyone) happy.

Last week was, "He's not aggressive enough."

This week...

I Agree with this. If I were one of these guys I would be pretty damn sick of getting beat by the same dude 3 years in a row.

We all know Ryan's character he is not a rammer. He does not let his anger control his riding. All three of those instances he was just being aggressive and all three of those other riders did not expect it because it WAS Ryan. So it may have looked a little ugly. But it is time he starts forces passes and stop waiting for them.

i'm going to go out on a limb and say that Dungey now has 3 guys that are going to be more than willing to put him on the ground these next few months.

like seeing him finally get aggressive, but not at the expense of putting guys in the dirt.

They just may. And that is where RD forces respect outta these guys and start claiming better finishes. If they don't move - them move them.

it seemed that he wasn't comfortable settling for 2nd place which is good in my opinion. I much preferred the dungey that we saw on the weekend. keen to see how he rides the rest on the season. win at any cost?

I would say that one hell of a lot of people who have voiced there approval of Dungey's riding at A2 have lost any right to EVER say a damn thing about Bam Bam again.

Yea, it looked like he was having a hard time trying to figure out where to stick it in there without doing a lot of damage. The other riders might want to protect themselves as Dunge spread the love around Saturday night fersur.

Seeing Dunge wine and dine guys like Weimer, Hill and Tickle seems about right. But he was a little out of his league in bumping and grinding with RV.

The heat race incident I don't think was 100% intentional take out......Dungey looking back was funny....But he was in danger of not making the main from Heat, so the HEAT was on I am sure....Tickle and Hill have not been much of an issue in past weeks, so If Dungey didn't pass them DeCoster would probably have packed up the trailer on him.....the main was just a silly last ditch move.....the look RV gave him was priceless.....

Hill shouldn't have been looking back he should have been looking ahead to the finish line.
I think they finally got his head dialed in.
