Bummin big time today.
Known Tiger since 97 when I met him on the PJ1 Arenacross series.
He stayed at my place in the midwest over the years for money races out here and borrowed my bike a few times too.
He always ran the Sano and MxCulture colors and was a great kid.
I'll remember that scratchy and variable tone voice that he always had and smile every time we'd cross paths.
He got me and Brad Ripple into a Seattle SX afterparty 2 years ago, we hung out all night and I re-united with his brother Race who I hadn't seen in years that night too.
He got to see the world by racing a dirt bike and has been to more places and seen more than most of us.
Missin ya already 221.
RIP

What caused this horrific situation? Was it meningitis ? How does one get meningitis ? He had one of the coolest names in mx. When ever any good person passes its tragic. When its someone as young as him it's so much worse. His friends and family must be torn up.

what is this meningitis bullshit... kills too damn many young people. When I was in little league, 12 years old, I had a 10 year old teammate die from it... Tiger Lacey, that name is unforgettable. I raced motocross in the early 90s and have followed the sport ever since. I've always heard his name every year but never knew much about him, now that I watch his interviews and read the great things people are saying, I wish I would have been a fan of his. Something more needs to be done about this meningitis thing. I dont know what, but Im always hearing about young people getting killed very quickly from it. Pisses me off. Sad

So very sad about this. What a great guy. It's not fair that is for sure. Worst ending for a year I have had. Lost quite a few this year.

Meningitis is an acute inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord, known collectively as the meninges.[2] The inflammation may be caused by infection with viruses, bacteria, or other microorganisms, and less commonly by certain drugs.[3] Meningitis can be life-threatening because of the inflammation's proximity to the brain and spinal cord; therefore, the condition is classified as a medical emergency.

Never take a day for granted. We are never promised tomorrow. RIP Tiger.

Thank you Dana, for posting that.
I knew Tiger from when he was a young kid, though not really closely. Even though I rarely got to see him over the last 10 years or so, he always greeted me with a huge smile, and treated me like I was his best friend. I raced the slow old man class at many of the events that he rode over the years, and he was never anything but a gentleman to me and my family.
Still tough to believe that he is gone.

Dana, thanks for the followup. I know you must miss Tiger like crazy.

The flu going around this winter is nasty. My wife contracted it and it hit so hard, so quickly, her first thought was some form of Meningitis. She went to her doctor and was told flu. Which she slowly recovered from.

I'm sorry about losing Tiger. Hang in there.
