Ridge, compared to yours I feel like I only stubbed my toe!
I like your "Villopoto strategy" haha!

I feel stupid even posting this after some of you guys...lol Broke both wrists at the same time. Clean brake on my right ulna and radius, but my left ulna and radius was not a clean brake. Got surgery the next day 40 staples total, with plates and screws in both wrists. Had to have a second surgery on my left wrist with pins. And still need another one cause the whole joint is messed up now. My right one dislocates on my from time to time and i dont have full mobility with my left wrist not to mention it hurts every freaking day

Compared to some, I feel lucky but heres my story...Over the bars and the bike landed on my left leg, dislocated left knee and patella. Torn ACL, PCL and inner medial ligament! plus 3 broken ribs! Surgery last week on the medial and have to wait 3 months for more surgery on the ACL and PCL. On crutch's and no walking until xmas, no riding for 12 months!!!
But after what I have read here in the last week, I feel lucky and cant compare what some other's are going through!

broken tib, fib, and calcaneus (heel), went back to work after 4 months and was a big mistake. I still limp and deal with some pretty stout pain at times after 2 1/2 years

6 months after that took a handle bar to the chest at an LL qualifier. 5 broken ribs, cracked sternum, two punctured lungs, broken nut (probably the worst). Had a chest tube for over a week and in ICU for 12 days. My mom was so excited for me to have two life flights in one year haha.

3 clavicals (more hardware)
another broken femur
left ACL/ MCL (2 pins and 14 weeks in a cast from my nuts to my foot)
broken left hand
broken right foot
crack tib/fib
separated right shoulder

Amputated limb wins.

My injuries seem pretty wussy by comparison; broken collarbone, 6 dislocated shoulders, hyper-extended knee. My worst crash resulted in the most painful MX injury, however:
One day my riding buddy and I were "cow trailing" it back home from a ride in the hills. If you've ever seen On Any Sunday, you'll get the reference. Well, we were trying to splash each other in the puddles that had gathered after a winter rain and I came up on a doozie - 100 feet at least of 6" deep water lying in a low spot on the trail. There was a white picket fence to my right that made a 90 degree turn away to the right and the trail followed it around the outside. I was ahead of my buddy who was clearly thinking along the same lines.
Me: "I'm going to head right for the corner of that fence and make sure he can't push me out into the puddle/lake."
Him: "I'm going to ram it up the inside and push him into that puddle/lake."
Well, he came up behind me about 10 MPH faster and slammed into my right elbow, turning my bars to the left. That made me fall to my right, across his seat as he was going by. I slipped off and landed with my right armpit draped over his rear wheel, which picked me up and stuffed me into the area under his seat. I was getting a real good look at his right boot while the rear tire was chewing up my back and my buddy was trying to figure out why his bike was bogging. Naturally, he pinned it and downshifted a few times to try to get back on the pipe, all while dragging me through the puddle. I lost a lot of skin and the ooze was unbearable. Ugh.

Broke the navicular bone in my right foot at Perris. The first doc missed the break on the x-ray, and he was an orthopedist. My foot felt mushy so I went to a podiatrist after a couple weeks. They do x-rays completely different and found it right away. He told me some horror stories about AVN and such because he thought it was the talus but to wait til the surgeon got back from vacation. That was scary because he said I might not make it back to work. The surgeon looked at it and said it could be fused and I could go back to work. The worst part was being out of work for 5-1/2 months. I was non-weight bearing for 3 months which caused my leg to wither and I never really got all of that calf back.

In 87 broke my lh femur in 7 places along with a compressed
vertebrae, luckily the Dr had a new procedure called a "Y" nail
that repaired it without the optional 6 months in a body cast.

Worste was compound broken arms and (de-skinned) my chin to the bone by flipping a bicycle on pavement 1 week before Lorettas. Most painful was last concussion (of 5), left me with a migrane for 2 months. Those things are no joke.. life sucks when your head hurts all the time.
A two month migraine omg that would be worse than a scorching case of herpes

Hit a cow in a Vw Jetta goin 65. Broke my ENTIRE face. Took a few years worth of surgeries to get close to where I started. I was really stoked when they finally got my eyes lined up right last year, no double vision=moto Smile

I started riding a few months after each surgery but man is it difficult to ride when you cant see straight. Never been happier than the day I could see fewer than two tracks at a time.

I've broken quite a lot of bones in the last 17 years of riding/racing, but nothing was ever as annoying as my acl reconstruction this summer.

Compression fracture of my T6-T8 Vertebrae recently- Stoked I can walk and still ride.

-and-

Compound fracture of Humerus/ Throttle arm at the Trochlea of the Humerus (elbow). Detonated into multiple pieces...13 screws-2 plates- and a couple pieces of wire to hold everything together.

Still not as bad as the foot-less fella.

Looks like they meticulously trimmed some skin off the back of Chris' leg to his alkalis. Must have used that flap of skin to cap it off?

Another ruptured spleen here. I started riding trails after three months, but I was told not to do anything that could potentially re-rupture it for six months. The worst was driving home after it happened on a bumpy California freeway, that hurt bad! All in all though I consider myself lucky that I did not lose it and I have no lasting effects from it. My friends got a kick out of making me laugh since it hurt like crazy!

Lol...the doc wouldn't let me keep it. I tried! But why have that pos to look at and bring me down, right? It messed up enough of my life already.

There's a couple other guys on here that have had their legs cut off too! Travis, where you at? I talk to a lot of people who are getting ready for amputation or just had it done.

It's not as gnarly as it looks...some of these other injuries are worse in my opinion.
