Ok, seasoned moto junkies....Vitards, et al...
Time to start the usual SX preseason bench racing threads.

Eli's got some serious training, bulking up & 450 experience before he's there... but how long you give it before Villo hears that Honda behind him? I see Eli Tomac as the heir apparent to the 450 crown. I like the young mans training ethics, discipline & talent he's exhibiting. He also WANTS IT. BAD.

What say you??

Eli is going to have to take everything he knows about starts, and throw it out the fucking window if he ever wants to be close enough to RV to smell his farts

Despite his obvious talents, and I like Eli, I think it may be a season or two before he is in that position. However, he may surprise me.

he didn't actually kill it on one last year in Sx though but canard rode it pretty well his first few times. I guess we will see how he adapts

I think it won't take long for Eli to show a wheel to RV but it's not gonna be easy to win, for sure. And I don't know if we can judge his future performance based on how he did this year on the few 450 races he did on supercross

Didn't everyone say barcia would run with rv and dungey as soon as he got on a 450? Eli just needs to keep it on two wheels for a while and learn as much as possible. I do like what Honda seems to be doing and keeping as many top riders on the 450 as possible.

SX.....I'm not sure. But he rides that damn 450 anything like he does that 250.......I'd say hangtown moto 1!

He'll have an adjustment period for sure. And yeah I know he has some 450 experience....I'm talking full season stuff. The kid's the real deal and he'll make his mark sooner or later.

He won moto 3 at MEC and he trains on a 450. I think he will be a contender next year

Eli will never be able to consistently challenge RV in my opinion.

My guess is that RV has two seasons left before he turns his back on this sport and walks away; I don't see ET getting up there that soon.

That being said, if Eli stays healthy through the SX season, there will be times where he is on RV's wheel for a moto.

Yep...

I don't think he will challenge a whole lot in SX, but, I think outdoors is going to be good.

i think Eli , will win a lot outdoors this yr , plus Barcia is so over rated on hear it is unreal , i might give Barica the nod in supercross over Eli , but outdoor Barcia will be a lot slower than villo, RD , JS7 , just as he was last year , and i think Eli will be right up with villo and RD ,

Didn't Eli have Barcia covered on the 250? I think he will do much better than Barcia in his first year... Just my opinion

I think he will be faster than people think at the MEC. This is definitely going to be the toughest year yet for RV to take that million dollars, there are a lot of riders with a lot to prove this year.

I swear people think that a lites bike and a SX bike are the same beast. It's like hey he is dominating on a pony when he steps up and rides a bull he's going to challenge the champ. fat chance.

3-5 rounds of sx he will be knocking at the door way way harder than barcia

I honestly see tomac as a mcgrath kinda rider in sx. He could upset everybody his rookie year. I think he has it.

I remember my dad telling a bunch of people MC would be great his first year on 250s...They all said no way. (look what happened)

I have a similar feeling for tomac.

Well, Barcia won SX Phoenix in the second race of the year in his rookie season. Tomac is every bit the rider Barcia is, so I think it could happen at any time. Will it happen? Only time will tell.

He will be a contender at the first gate drop on a 450 and the next in line to be #1. It may take a little, but now he can focus 100% of his time on the 450 and his starts will come around if not right away. This year is going to have a lot of riders that can win and highest group of talent ever, to be on the gate at the same time. With Stewart's age getting up there and the young guns hanging it out even faster than him now, I have a feeling this year is a win or retire year for him. Hitting the ground gets scarier every year you get older and last year was the first year it seemed to effect him. Tomac on the other hand isn't scared and just getting started! It's just a matter of time before we are saying ET1 and RV2. What a great time to be a MotoFan!

Barcia won 2 races last year. One of them with RV up his ass the whole time. All the guys that bag on him should give him some credit. I swear it is like most posters here are not even fans of the sport with how much hate they have for the riders. It is like most people here have never ridden a bicycle let alone a dirtbike. F.F.S.
