Have some friends that work at Nike and were in the dept that help put those things together. I'm sure they have a small stock pile of them some where.....but from what I know , they are few and far between. My buddy BigDaddyG would know more I think.

I dont get the whole Nike boot thing. How bout just a big swoosh iron-on placed on the jersey? You just know those boots are primitive as compared to most top line stuff.

Well, as stated earlier in the thread, pretty sure they get X number of pair per year, im guessing they constantly have pairs going back and forth for complete re-do's from the soles on up so they are always looking fresh. I think its way cool that he and RD have something totally unique.

I do like the exclusivity they offer RD and JS. Like everyone else though, I wish they made a boot for the general public. Professional riders always have the stuff we can't get anyways but we can always get a version of what they got. I know I'd give them a shot if they made a boot for the public.

And whoever said they are "primitive" needs to go back and watch the SX a couple of years ago that RD went over the handle bars and landed straight on his feet. His ankles would have been busted to shit if he were in "primitive" boots. Sure, other brands might have held up but the Nike's did their job there.

I'd die for a pair them boots look so good. I got a moto 9,answer gear,soon to be seven gear and my oakley airbrake,just need Nikes to be like bubba Bob.

The boots wouldn't do you much good if you actually died for them. I mean you would probably look pretty legit wearing them in your casket, but usually the lower half of the body is covered any way so it would really be a wasted sacrifice...

Tcx makes a great boot. I'm sure those Nike's are fine.

Don't know how much exposure they get Nike, or why they would cost thousands a pair to make.

I think the Nike boots are sick and it's cool that they are the only 2 that have them. I'm sure Nike didn't make a cheap boot for JS7 and RD to wear. They are some of the few top guys of the sport that get a lot of exposure and have tons of fans. Boots wear like that when you have razor sharp pegs and you ride the balls off a factory 450.
