Look JS, CR and RD's times. they were in a heated battle to the end.

I know about lap times. Last week Stewart had 2 sec lead the entire race and never got threatened. Stewart let Reed closer on a lap 19 but that`s it.

I was there, Reed was on him pretty good for a couple laps but he was much of a threat by the last lap... Kind of settled in. I think stewart acually made a small mistake in the sand right before the finish.

True, they could cover it up. But if it was found out he was running Spring fork, that doesn't send a particularly great message out about standard Honda equip, yes given their bikes are nothing like production. I was listening to pulp show a few weeks ago, Chad sounded pretty adamant that the Air fork was the way of the future and if your not using and testing them now, you will get left behind. Would Honda be willing to spend time and money testing/setting up a spring fork for Chad when they are going to become obsolete soon.

I love the idea that people might think Air forks are bad because someone on a factory bike is riding something different...

Good thing Nascar or V8 Supercars down here don't worry about that... My Holden would sure go faster with a cool paint job and no stereo...

I don't, what kind of message are they putting out by selling a bike with Kayaba forks and racing one with Showas?
The answer is, it doesn't matter what brand of fork they slap on the crf450, they still sell the shit out of them.
What I find hard to believe is some think that spring forks will be made obsolete by air forks.

When I get to where I'm racing pro supercross on a factory bike, then I'll start worrying about it.

I think cross flags were out and everyone had to roll a section.

He said in the podium interview he was running the spring forks.

Some of you idiots shouldn't be allowed to breed.

It's about time!

It seems like the air forks to Reed this year are similar to the '97 Honda frame for McGrath. Suspension gurus love them, but it seems like they are not up to par with some of the top professional's standards.

When the other seven in the top ten quit using them I might agree with you saying they are not up to par.

Maybe that's why Ralph keeps saying he is "gritty" every damn broadcast.

Reed is one of those guys that knows what works and what doesn't. And when it doesn't, he's pretty dramatic about it.Laughing New stuff always takes a while to work the bugs out so can't blame him for going back to what a decade of testing at the highest level of the sport has gotten him to. No doubt he is on the last leg of his career so why should he be trying new stuff that may not actually be any better?

The real issue here is how bad did he piss of Honda for saying that on the podium? It can't be good for sales when one of your top riders says these air forks suck and I can't win with them so I went back to the forks you can't buy on a new bike.

Matthes: Dirt good, track good, bike I think a little better?

Reed: We went back to last year's suspension. It was awesome. I went back to my Austrailian settings when I last won.

(some chatter about the RV/JS red cross pass)

Matthes: Good battle there going on.. Five of you guys going at it.. sticking it on Stew like it was 2011

Reed: There'll be more of that. I just need to get some comfort in the front. My bike's been like a girl that cheated on me you know? I just got to trust her again.

Matthes: Dung made a run of you at the last lap?

Reed: I had him covered. Knew where he was and just was... riding it out.

Matthes: Good ride

Reed: We'll bring it next week.
