G H R is soooo sensitive these days . You call a bankrupt state with business leaving for other states an area of economic opportunity? You Golden State Ajockies all must have a toss to that Deliverance scene each evening after you spend your Friday evenig doing your research and washing the neighbors dog. Any one that spends their time researching and posting on a MX site is obviously a narcissistic bag of wind. The best thing about all of this is that the good people of the South will not have to fear someone of your superior ego yet inferior character moving down.

Just one more thing. My family is from California. I still have family there. Yes I realize there are many wonderful and beautiful places there. I have seen them. What GHR chose to take as a personal attack on everyone who might live there is certainly not what was intended. Unfortunately, you all do have to live under many laws and regs that relieve you of liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Are there more areas to ride today than 15 years ago? I am confident there are not. The reason many native Californians bristle when someone remarks negatively about there state is that a large percentage know that the state they love is morphing into a state they just live in. It must be pointed out that the gauntlet was thrown down denigrating My state and labeling us as Rednecks and such just because of the town or state the home was located in. To BURNSIDE: I visited London this past summer and must say that I was very disappointed. Bad weather Bad teeth Bad Food Bad Traffic, yet wonderful people who are fun and gracious. SX tonight from the ATL! Ya'll enjoy it on TV!!


P.S. just an observation but DEAN122 your username and race number? Should they not correspond? Idk

Don't be fooled by the pictures. Real estate down here is not cheap. Sounds like a lot for the price, but I bet you couldn't live in it without a lot of work and money spent on it. Black mold grows on everything that doesn't move down here. Leave a house vacant for a couple of months, and it's everywhere. There are tons of houses for sale here that have been for a long time, some of them for years. I know because I deliver mail on different routes all the time. You couldn't give away some of these houses that appear to be very nice places. The market here is in the dumps. It's so hard to sell a house down here, because there are a ton of them just sitting there. That's why the price seems low, and it does seem low. I've seen this before too. The picture could be from the way it was, not the way it is. As usual, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

I was amazed when I moved to Georgia what you could get for the money....I looked at a new 3400 sf home for $180k on an acre near atlanta.......Some of it is the fact that the building codes are so lax. You don't even have to be a contractor to build houses. They do stuff like frame, tyvek and siding. YOu can actually punch your fist through the exterior wall if you wanted. They hang the shingles over the fascia by 1.5" and save on drip rail, etc....
They are adequate houses though, but it would never get approved in FL that is for sure and that house would be 500k in the middle of nowhere. Near a city, a million.

Where is Barcia going???

I lived in Socal for years and the stereotypes only apply to a little circle that you can draw around Hollywood. It's a great state with great people and so much to offer.
Barcia's place is very nice for retirement or maybe if you are a Pro MXer. But I'll stay where my skill set results in a 6 figure paycheck, even if homes do cost 4x that.

That house sold for 222.5k one year ago, so it either hasn't been Barcias for over a year or Barcia bought to filp and it's not going to work out that well. It's a house.Whistling

I have been looking around here and you can get 20 acres, 30 minutes from the beach with a newer 3000 sqft home with barn, lake/s and close to every thing for 350/400,000 and even less. There are crazy deals here. I went with a realtor a few weeks ago and looked at a few real steals and will be getting something soon. I rode an unreal private track yesterday that was near where I was looking. The owners live 25 minutes away near the beach and there are places like this around there. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but are just outside the busy city.
