Tyler Evans Sighting

Edited Date/Time 5/12/2013 6:43pm
Just helped Tyler Evans out with some denim here in the Bay Area. Would have had no idea it was him if I hadn't asked for ID and had him confirm my suspicions when he checked out. Super nice guy, looked to be doing just fine and told me he's just been enjoying life with his family down in So Cal. I was wondering what had happened to him around the 08-09 season. Absolutely made my day!

Skribbled out his personal info cause he's still a big dude.

Edit: Picture won't upload, will post if needed later tonight

I talked to him at A1. Super nice and friendly guy! Told me that he tried to do the wrestling thing, but it didnt work out and that he is still doing riding schools and riding some supermoto in his off-time.

He took the wrestling thing pretty serious from what I heard and was actually being partially trained by Hulk Hogan himself. He was on the set of the "other" wrestling program a few times as well ( not WWE ). I was wondering how far he was going to take it. That's one sport / side show that's probably just as brutal as MX is.......it chews em' up and spits em' out.

Does anyone have that wrestling promo video he did a few years back? That was good for a laugh.

Glad to hear he is doing OK.

i find it funny people say hes super nice and mellow..is that why they call him 1 punch?

I was rooting for him when he was on the Tommy Hilfiger backed RM250 in 2004...i think he was someone that could've made it if he had the right backing

Funny. I was just doing a Google on him to see what he's been up to. Good guy who finally shed all that BS stuff. Sadly, the MX community knows him as that...but I've met him several times and always a great guy even in his Inland Empire White Boy Gangsta Phase.

All I can figure is that the whole one punch/bloodshot show was nothing but an act for a talented but 10-20 place SX rider to get more exposure and make more money, thanks to the mentality of the average SX fan it worked like a charm. Talked with him on several occasions during his heyday and the ghetto speak went away and he was nice as can be. I hope he is doing well

Long time reader, 1st time poster....

Every time I've seen Evans at a SX or local race, he has always been nice, approachable. Sign autographs for little kids while BS'n with others. Last race I saw him at was A1, pit'n out of the back of a van, no barrier to keep fans back or away.
Don't know why people bag on him so much for trying to make a buck.
AND that LV bike he had in Vegas was awesome, one of my fav "Vegas" bikes.

I always rooted for Tyler. I think at his time he was actually good for the sport. He was decent on those RM 250's.
I would have compared him to a rider like Weston Pieck, but Weston has put forth alot of effort and it is paying off for him in the last half of the season, in good results.
Tyler was a good enough racer in SX also to make the mains, and most mains he didn't have to go thru the LCQ. so he deserves some credit for being a good enough racer and entertaining enough to gain a following.
He wasn't a trouble maker, and I wish him the best of luck.
I would love to see Matthes get him on a podcast.

A couple years back when he was still into the wrestling thing he was on the Jason Ellis show and seemed like a pleasant, intelligent dude. He gave out his cell phone number on air though, which I thought was a bit strange.

I posted that wrestling video when it only had like 2 views. After everyone here started talking bad about him making fun of it, the video dissapeared off YouTube. Maybe someone can search my posts and find the original post?

I think it cause he one-punched factory Phil or something like that...
