is going up, the guy shines when the pressure is on. I realize he got a bad start in moto 1 and hit a tree last week but the guy is doing really well down the stretch. He is going to 450s next year??? Too bad he did go down last week, we could have a title fight between him and Baggett, seems pretty far out right now.

His stock is very high. He is a stud. Bigtime potential.

He's got a cool style too. Seems like a lot of those top 250 guys have very fun styles to watch.

Honda's got the next 450 "crew" nailed down quite nicely.

It wouldn't be too hard to imagine Eli getting "Called up to the Bigs" on the "Opposite-Coast" during SX next yr if they need him...

Not only is he an amazing rider but he's also a very approachable, well spoken individual. I should imagine his stock has gone through the roof.

Right now Tomac is riding the best, and 28 pts isnt impossible...4 motos to go, plenty of points on the line..had he made up more points 2nd moto last week he'd really be in it.

yea shoulda coulda woulda but he didn't. I think he's a great rider but he's thrown away a lot of points this summer. two fastest guys in the 250 championship are clearly baggett and tomac but it hasn't really shown in the points.

When Eli gets on the big bikes, I have a feeling we will see the best of him, and it will be good.

I know, I know..but dont sit here and tell me he isnt in it

I know Baggett is riding smart, but last week Tomac was riding better than any one, and that last moto his momentum around the entire track was unreal, he is definitely riding the best right now.

So...

Then, the Question is:

Does Eli have a "100 point" capability in him these next 2 weeks?

'Cause, if he does...and the rest of these guys, namely Blake and Justin, keep bouncing around the Top 5-10...well...

I think these last two( southwick and unadilla) are his best tracks. he's on another level in the sand and unadilla last year was where he finally started to turn it around. I don't see him making up enough to take the title. he got Moto wins these last two weekends but the motos he didn't win are what lost him the overalls.

Blake hasnt really been floating around the top5-10 . that's been barcia the last 3 out of 4 motos

Eli's Hangtown results killed him. He started 21 points back and hasn't been able to make up the deficit. With a better finish there he'd be right in the thick of things.

Possibly ... but when you don't have anything to lose it is easier to ride faster. Eli has nothing to lose. He has to win and hope for bad luck from Baggett. Eli really crapped the bed in the first moto.

As for Baggett, he has everything to lose. He has a commanding lead and he knows that he is good enough to finish top 3-5 without really working too hard to close out this championship. There are two rounds left and I am glad to see that BB12 is riding smart when compared to last year.

Tomac is a beast. Think Team Honda will have three riders in 2014 or will Tomac sign with McBrooks or 22 Motorsports Honda?

This. IMO Tomac has the most upside when he moves to the 450. He's shown at times to have that next level speed outdoors, same as Blake and he blow his doors off indoors.

He has been absolutely flying these last two weeks. I was in shock of his speed at Southwick, and he just repeated that performance at Unadilla.

Baggett hasn't had a problem of any sort yet, even with his normally bad starts. Maybe his one bad race is coming? That would make things really interesting.

Tomac's definitely on it in these last 2 races, his lap times have been the fastest in 3 of the last 4 moto's.

Not that this matters, as its just coincidence, but as soon as Bell joined the team, Eli has shown more speed and

determination. The whole Geico team is fast, With 5 riders now in the 250f class, I think they need to start thinking about

limiting a team size to no more than 4 riders. They must have HUGE budgets!!

Harder and harder for small teams, and privateers to compete.

His starts don't seem to be very consistent & may well stay that way on a 250. If he could start up front every moto he would have had a great shot at being 250 MX champ this year, still some races to go & anything can happen.
Keen to see him race a 450 outdoors but he is young so why rush into it.
I like his crouching tiger ridding style!

IMO he's been the fastest man on the planet in 2012... he's not a particularly good starter, nor is he as consistent as the very top guys.... but no doubt he is ridiculously fast when he's "on".....

I couldn't agree more. Although Baggett is right there with him. It seems like they swap races with fastest times. I think Tomac would be an incredible pick for 22 Motorsports. Reed has said he didn't pick Deano up because he felt like he would have to babysit him. I think Tomac is much more focused and disciplined with his program and would do well for 22 when he moves up. Can't wait to see him at the MEC!!!

I've been telling a few of my buddies lately that I think Eli will be the guy that could potentially have a career like Windham. He's extremely fast, has his head in the right place, and he surrounds himself with the right people. The stuff is all there for a very long, successful career.
