I just love this pic. He has that thing just crushed on the takeoff. Look at the tires! It is just crazy how hard guys like RC can push a motorcycle.

Along with how crazy it is that a guy like RC can push a motorcycle, is how far a motorcycle can be pushed and take it from a guy like RC. Suspension is bottomed completely out. Tires are folding up. Chain sagging low, and more than likely the frame scraping the dirt before he made it to take off. Yet, it was probably still a great landing on the other side. I'm pretty sure that if I did this on my Honda, it would have bucked me off mid flight when my seat smacked me in the ass harder than my grandma ever hit me with a willow branch. Then again, I don't have an ounce of the skill that RC ever has, on his worst day, with the flu, in a hospital bed.

That is a cool shot. And yea, the rocket fast guys really push their equipment to the limit.

But, what you're seeing here is not uncommon.
I think that you all would be surprised by a photo of yourself on the face of the same jump.

I'm not rocket fast. At best...top 5 local B / slow A, and I've seen photos of my bike at launch where everything is bottomed.

Cool pic of Ricky for sure, but not earth shattering by any means.

RC's perfect technique makes it possible to remain under control huge G forces. Vertical stance, arms and legs flexed. Head up and looking forward. Shoulders square to the bars. Standing on the balls of his feet. Nuts over the tank.

Pretty much what I was going to say. Nothing unusual really. Even though it is a cool pic.

who is this Carbunkle character?

maybe if he was faster he would have the number 1 and wouldn't have cased this double, would Pastrami have even been close?

The next level we need for TV would be the super slomo they use in F1 coverage! it's so cool to watch those cars hit the curbs in super slomo can you imagine what it would look like watching RC hit that jump in super slomo!!

Man, I hope so! I know where im going to have the ole lady standing when I'm back on the bike again! (just released from docs from a broken shoulder) If i could get a shot even close to looking like that, ill be framing it and putting it on the wall in the man cave! Hell, I may even spend the money on having it done up on canvas! haha. Buuuut... my fiancee does do really nice paintings..so I could just have her make it look that way!

I wasn't even close to B speed, and I've seen pics of my bike all bottomed out. Granted I had stock suspension and Ricky has super stiff, but for how much faster he's going, it's about even. Point being, when the bike is ridden to the speed it's set up for, it's supposed to perform that way.

The name RC and "perfect technique" should never be used in the same sentence.

He is the GOAT but he's never had perfect technique. His technique may be perfect when compared to mine, but that's not saying much.

If you took a photo of the other 39 in the same place & time, I doubt you'd have the same result.
This title should read: This pic sums up why RC is the GOAT.

It is definitely a cool picture, but as others have said, it is probably a pretty common scene in a section like that.

This is jemcee's avatar. I have always thought it showcases RC pushing it:

RC was one of the few guys who could over ride a bike...

I listeneed to that podcast w/ Matthes & Goose and he said that RC would DESTROY his practice bikes..

you know you're a fucking beast when you can wear out a bike in 1-2 rides..and im not talking stretching chains..im talking wearing out throttle cables and bending frames :-P

..and here i am thinking how hard i ride my bike and how much abuse i give it..lol...yeah right
