E-man811 Started a new thread Custom wiring harness ?

2/16/2022 5:37pm
Can anyone point me in the direction of someone that builds race harnesses. In need for 2022 yz250f. "need" ? no. "want" ? yes. Trimmed down, slimmed down, smaller connectors, shortened wires, simplified, lightened, etc. The stock bloated mess of a harness on this bike is a thing of disgust and surely one of the many reasons why this bike...

I agree. Most people also can't tell the difference in fork offsets either. (Off topic) The solution ultimately for my bike, weight and riding style was to reduce the fork offset from the stock 25mm down to 22mm. I did this by fitting 2014 YZ250F triple clamps to a 2001 YZ125 frame. (I know, "that can't be done...blah blah blah"...
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ THIS... ! ! It's amazing what small changes in wheelbase can do to the personality of a bike even while adjusting other things so that the wheel base is changed without affecting other things like effective rake, sag and shaft speed in the shock. Most people only focus on what changing the rear wheel position...

Regarding clamps.. Consider whether or not you want to change fork offset. YZ125 and YZ250 clamps have been 25mm consistently as far as I know. If you are going to use clamps from YZ450f's and YZ250f's, keep in mind that there are different offsets of either 22mm or 25mm that change on different model years of the 250F and the...

YZ144 here. My .02. Take it for what you will. My experience has been extremely reliable and I have been very pleased with my custom build. I have not ridden a faster 125/144. Under a basic maintenance schedule (not even as frequently as stock MFG recommendations), I have been through 10 rings, 5 pistons/pin/bearing and 2 cranks with out one...

Hey Wasatch..... not only are some people born with narrow nostrils... some of us are born ignorant to the fact that we are ignorant to some things. Like the fact that Kxcrf and I have a nose that is shaped in a way that makes it mostly ornamental and cannot really breath through our nose. I fear ever being held...

E-man811 Added a reply to Can car machnics work on dirt bikes ?

Can they? Yes. absolutely. They have the tools, they have the aptitude of general mechanical knowledge and diagnostics. Should they? Depends. I know two very skilled and well paid auto mechanics that have no business working on motorcycles. This is a two way street. There is too much knowledge that is relevant to just bikes or just cars for them...

Just curious what you mean by that. What's strange about that? I guess it is uncommon, yes. But are you suspicious of something. Just wondering what your perspective is on that being that I'm a mid-back A rider and have a grand total of about 15 minutes of seat time on a 4 stroke MX bike and haven't ridden one...
You're not getting a hard time because of your intent or your strategy. You're well intended in helping to market the family business. The strategy of doing that on industry-relevant discussion forums is a good one. You're getting dragged over the coals because of your tactics and your terrible execution. Yes, other people have "promoted" things here, but their tactics...
