I saw people start drinking beers at 8am yesterday. Seriously I know it's 5 o'clock somewhere but 8 am is to early to drink.

Just got back from Freestone. First of all bad ass race! Last time I went was 2010 and I had a blast today, tried to soak in how these beast ride if ya know what i mean

There was a group of people that were yelling shit at Dungey during his podium speech after moto 1.
"Why didn't you pass Stewart Dungey??" "Pussy" "Oh it's cause you can't" and ended the shouting with "James is gonna 24-0 you!"
This shit annoyed me cause I saw Stewart look over at the people after one shout and his facial expression changed like "fuck you" and it was relatively quiet during Ryan's first moto podium speech too so they both heard all this for sure. And Stewart said in his second moto podium speech that "it's disrespectful to these guys "aka Dungey" to say any 24-0 crap."

What the fuck is this kind of shit common now or what? Maybe I overreacted cause I was drunk, but I almost started blind siding douchebags. Or maybe I have too much respect for pro's. But shit for good reasons, especially someone like Dungey.
Yeah, people were yelling alll kinds of stuff but, there was a guy behind me, who obviously had a few beers, yelled out " I love you Ryan Dungey"....it was pretty funny and everyone around us were laughing. I know Ryan heard it because he started smiling... Anyway, but a pretty vocal group at the podum.

Look, pay me a few million dollars to what I love to do and you can have as many idiots as you would like yell at me on the podium. It would be classless and a douche bag move but I wouldn't give a shit, I would laugh my way all the way to the bank.

These guys are living the dream and a few idiots wont change that, either on the track or the net. We probably get more upset about it than they do.

Yes, but first you'd need actual talent. Wink

Probably the same idiots that were booing Stewart in Supercross and cheering for Dungey.

What an amazing race between those two that was, I couldn't find one negative thing to say if I tried.

Sounds to me like several Vital posters were on hand at Freestone, to "audible" boast what they "verbally" post here?

Didn't stick around to hear the idiots at the podium, but excess beer and another face blended in the crowd = talking shit/making an ass out of yourself. Classless, & TX is better than that. Big time moto history there and proud to be a native Texan. If you're drinking beer at 08:00, a bit ridiculous(wouldn't you say?)....

Ryan ate a lot of Stewart/Suzuki roost(the irony here...)yesterday. I thought a couple of times he would make a pass and go, but he just couldn't pull it off cleanly(difference between Dungey and some others), but just couldn't. Credit James for riding totally unflappable. He handled the pressure great. I was frustrated for Ryan.........but my brother reminded me of something.
This may be the best thing for Dungey....he rode both motos right behind James rear fender able to see everything he did. What better way of examing the what's/whys of JS7. And what better "sparring partner" than JS7.

I'd say if you're running James' pace outdoors, you're going pretty damn fast. Too bad we didn't have Villo out there(along w Reed, Canard), we really would've seen some great racing!

Because everyone thinks that RV would have beaten James by a minute. Dungey didn`t accomplish his job in their eyes.

It could be the same people that are angry at Dungey for not passing Stewart. Who knows? I'm glad Stewart said it was disrespectful. Dungey is good dude, who is killing it on the track.

That's what happens, man. 90% of the guys who show up there ( and like 99.9% of the guys who show up to SX) are just Joes who have no idea what motocross is. Most of them ride a 2001 CR250 with a cut airbox and couldn't make it a lap around a national track. That's just how it is
This from a guy that says "Stay in your shit hole of California and don't come to my state". What tribe are you from?

I have found, in every instance, that there is a direct correlation between the size of ones mouth and the fragility of ones ego.

Taking the above in to account mixing that with beer and , at a wild guess, a group of people with lower than average IQ's -who almost always seem to have more trouble than most at filtering their thoughts before they verbalize them - and the end result is almost inevitable.

I was standing by the JGR pits at Hangtown, between practice and the first motos so it was still early, when this drunk, shirtless idiot stumbled over and started yelling at one of the mechanics something like "Do me a favor and just kick Bubba's ass. Prove it's not the bike!"

The silence after that remark was deafening. The drunk stumbled off, and I couldn't tell if he was red from embarrassment or sunburn. Probably sunburn.

It irritates me when I hear stuff like this. None of these guys deserve to get booed. I know James has had more than his fair share as well.....and it's uncalled for. And now RD gets booed? Both of these guys have done a LOT for this sport! Weather you like the rider or not for numerous reason , booing is a disgrace for the sport. Everyone of these guys risk their neck to make a name for themselves. Sure they are paid a lot of $$$ , and they deserve every cent they get. I've said it before , so I might as well say it again........you boo the riders it makes you look like an idiot and it's uncalled for.

It's like the original Men In Black - "A person is smart. People are stupid and reactionary." Or something like that. You put those big-mouth asshats one-on-one with Dungey and they'd fall all over themselves with hero worship - you put them in a crowd and they try to get attention like the pathetic second grader who'll eat a shaker of salt to get a laugh.
lol sounds about right

I agree 100%, I may get crap for this but I have to say, why let these fools get away with it, call em out, not saying pick a fight but call them out right then and there. Now a days this kind of behavior is too excepted, I guarantee if you call them out the majority will back you. If any of you punks are reading this, come up to Mn and try it That goes for giving JS, RD, CP or any other rider crap,

I haven't been to a race in years. Used to go to 3-5 Sx's and at least 2 nats each year. I'm no less a fan, but damn I can stay at home and save the $$, AVOID the drunk a-holes that seem to dominate every race (and getting worse from what I hear and read). The last 7 or 8 races I ever attended, I had someone either in front of me, behind me or to each side who was drunk, belligerant, and just plain stupid. Starting fights with anyone who gave them a second look...just got sick of it. I watch from the confines of my house, drink my cheap beer, and avoid the douchery. Is it my proximity to socal? Who knows. The last race I enjoyed 100% was Millville. Great track, great people.

I'll catch hell for this I'm sure but it's FMX and MMA wanna be tools. Every Tom,Dick and Harry thinks they are a MMA fighter these days. Somehow our sport has been infiltrated by these rats. When you went to the SX how many MMA related and got-damn metal militia shirts did you see? I know some true MMA fighters and they act like normal people in public but you have this hybrid MX'r/FMX/Affliction tools that think they are hard. Maybe I'm just old now and can't relate?
