Heath Voss is a great guy and is always nice at every local event he attends. He really does take the time to talk with every kid who approaches and will shoot the breeze with you on the starting line.
and by far the "nicest" guy I have ever met was
Matt Karlsen
He is just good people plain and simple. I think he is by far the nicest rider (I don't mean just of the pros, I mean rider) I have ever met.

Come to think of it I don't think I have ever had one act like a dick, Even Reed was super cool to my 6 year old a couple years back at Budds Creek- Must have been off his PMS.

Blair was the friendliest, but Darcy was the most fun to be around. The kid was nuts when he was younger. All you had to do was say a jump couldn't be done and out he'd go on his 80 and huck it perfect first try. He saw "doable" gaps where others saw plaster and traction. His brother was a good guy as well. I had the opportunity to stay with their family for a weekend and ride their local spots on Vancouver Island. Great people all around.
Blair was cool. He came out with us one night after an arenacross he was in town for, and we organized a game of late night pick up hockey at a local rink where my roomate was the ice maker. For a Canadian kid he sure doesn't skate very well, but we all had a blast mucking about on the ice for an hour or two.
On the off road side and OVERALL I would say Juha Salminen who raced the GNCC's a few years ago, that guy is one of the greatest off-road riders in history and to talk with him one would never have guessed. He is polite cordial, never rushed, and always makes eye contact and when you talk to him he gives you his full attention. Secondly when you see him walking around the track or pits, he is quick to give a friendly nod, wave or even the antiquated phrase "hello". The champions from all disciplines of motorcycle racing can learn alot from Juha.
Steve wise
Kent Howerton
Of course, I've seen how Alby, DV, RR, Ferry, KW and some others really make an effort and go out of their way to connect with the fans. That's why they are so well though of. It really pays off.
Oh, almost forgot. Jeremy did a shout out on video to one of my friend's kids (who raced). It was real cool. We got Larry Maiers to set it up like it was a real interview question. Those kids wore out that tape rewinding it and showing to all their friends.
and austin stroupe was very nice. he came over to my friends and me at the atlanta sx after they had stop signing and signed autographs and took pics with us. he was very cool.
Pit Row
The little kids (65s, 50s) are always asking him questions and he answers them all. He's just one of the guys riding. A very grounded guy who just loves to ride.
The other guy Ryan Dungey. I watched that guy stop and talk to more kids while trying to look at the Freestone track then all the riders combined. Everywhere you looked he was shaking hands and taking pictures, and he didn't turn anybody away when a lined formed instantly around him asking him for his autograph. Very Classy.
Lastly, McGrath - just last year at MiniMotoSX - was as down to earth as can be.

, anyone remember him? Won the Pro class at Mammoth Mountain one year against some big names we all know.
Rich Casselli always had a smile for anyone, even in his "bottle days" Pissed me off one time when He was going to lead us on a ride from Dove Springs and he lead straight to the Jaw Bone store for beer. I was all set for a long ride and to learn some new trails as he knew them all. Couldn't stay mad at Rich though. RIP Rich, see you soon.
Shared a camp spot with Danny LaPorte at Mountain High one time. He said he would give my son one of his take off practice tires after the race. When my kid went to get it his mech had given them all away. After the race he had his mech take off the tire he raced the 2nd moto on and give it to him. His bike went back to LA with just a rim. Another guy that always had a smile.
You know there is just too many nice guys in this sport to name just one.
Mark Russell for sure!
But, if I had to pick just one it would be Jeff Blix, with TP199 a close second.
Most all of the riders I have met, in passing, seem to be great people. I got to ride a few times with Kent Howerton while I was still in Texas. Great guy with a great kid! Watch out if he decides to get more serious about racing.
