They are steep but 100% has the roots and background to back that price.
I myself won't be getting a pair cause of that price.
I will however indulge if they offer a cheaper pair like the Oakley O Frame.

100% agree with Mugz too. How can anyone question if MX has turned into a fashion. LOL! "turned"??? ha ha ha. It turned into a fashion back in the mid-80s thanks to the old JT Racing and Fox, thanks to guys like RJ and DB and O'Show.

Excellent post Mugz.

Tongue good for you! the 100% look sick! i used to wear VonZippers and now that John Kuzo is over at 100% I've been looking into them, your gonna see alot of amateurs rocking them bc Kuzo is gonna steal them from 1005 and Bevo from scott. 75 is a good deal for what you get, the mirrored lens with a clear and 20 tearoffs. these dude paying under 30 a goggle are rocking scott 83s with quick straps! haha Tongue
Bevo left Scott and went to 100% so I wonder how many of his riders he will take with him

Once you wear a good pair goggles, you will not want to wear the $30 deals any more. Better fit, thicker foam, will not push on nose and restrict breathing, strong frames and can take apart for washing. Just saying.

Support BEVO!!

I heard Bevo is coming out with a new line of goggles for BBQ-ing!!

Some of the oakleys push over $130 I too am in the boat that goggles over 50 are way too expensive! I got a new fashionable oakley o frames for 35 I can't understand how they get so much better that people pay close to more than 100....fox is guilty of it too ...now 100% ...wow they don't even hold Amy market share to claim that price

In 1997, I came up with the idea for a set of goggles that would incorporate a hands free roll-off system that would be triggered with a button where the kill switch normally is. I figured that they would be about $200 retail, so I shelved the idea because I know how cheap motocrossers are. Nobody races in the mud anymore except for the pros, and those guys don't want to pay for anything. I figured it was a good idea that wouldn't make money.

Are 100% goggles made in USA like the Scott's.

You can buy left over last-year's top-of-the-line models for $30. Guess what? They fit awesome.

Just saying.

Since you get free gear, if I give you my sizes, will you hook a moto-brother up? (I'll even go above and beyond and pay for shipping...and mention your name on the podium, that I'll never see) Smile

It must be nice to get free gear! I've never gotten one free thing from the moto industry ever! Wait, scratch that, I caught a T-shirt at an arena cross a couple years ago, and those posters they give out in the pits at the supercross, I got a couple of those for free. But besides that...nothing. Wink
When i was young and a decent prospect, i had to beg and implore for a discount on goggle, let alone get it free. now that i'm a journalist, i get free stuff without even asking. Life is unfair, that's for sure. On a side note, i don't make that much $, there has to be a compensation...

The only thing that scares me about getting some funky goggles is surely you won't be able to buy tear offs from the ratty old parts van on race day? Or is the lense / tear off shape universal?
2/2/2012 4:28am
For that price i hope those goggles have night vision ore something fancy like that.

You should be happy...moto being so fashion crazy has brought in a lot of sponsors. When you LOOK the part, people tend to pay more attention.

Yeah, I also could have bought 2 sets of Ocelot gear for the price of my Fox. ;-)

Yeah that really isnt a bad deal for nice goggles. I was lucky enough to be scott backed ride for like 10 years and never paid for goggles. But I had friends that I used to ride with that I would give my previous year goggles to because they were spending 50-60-70 bucks for goggles. This sport is not cheap at all!

Obviously you've never worn Eks goggles. And I can guarantee you haven't worn the 100% goggles. Nice try though.

yeah for sure, x brand must be an amazing product, they must be killing it on the market with something so superior. I don't understand why every goggle thread always gets pirated by a few x brand guys. This forum must really be the make or break for sales.

i checked the 100% website and they also have a $45 goggle, why don't you compare this one with your x? I'm with Neutra though, i'll pay for my Fox gear.
