CBS Coverage Much Improved

Both heats aired along with the main event. 31:37 of racing footage, Weimer gets a spot, main podium interviewed. Better than last week.

Hands down better. Maybe Feld does pay attention. Their is More room for improvement however. The track map? That is a solid waste of time that doesn't add any details and or excitement to the program. If it is a sponsor plug, then I am sure something can replace it with a better purpose. Kudos again on the show. Much better!

I don't remember there being a track map. They still got shots of guys further back in the pack and didn't miss any action.

yea, funny though, when CR, JS and RV were battling lap after lap I was waiting for that one moment where they cut away to show RD catching up. And while they're filming RD, you hear the crowd yell only to miss a key pass, crash or what not... lol.. Not this time. Hats off to them. They're getting better for sure.

I don't have anything to complain about. They showed 100% of the heats and main with cameras on the battle at the front, I don't care what they do in between that.

I thought the same exact thing while watching today's coverage. All in all, it was a great improvement with one exception... Erin continues to stutter, get words mixed up, and make untrue statements (e.g. the lead-in to RV's podium interview, telling him that he was tied in points and sharing the red plate after Ralf clearly stated that it was Reed and Dungey sharing the points lead). Replace her with Georgia Lindsay already--the overall production value will improve and fans will thank you.

She also said something to Reed about getting the hole shot and fading back in the pack???... Dude lost one spot to the race winner.

The CBS coverage was great. The "racing" or lack there of left much to be desired. We are now up to 2 passes for the lead position after 80 laps and 4 rounds. Hard for the camera guys and the announcers to do much with that so cut them some slack if you did not enjoy it.

You are high of you didn't think the race was entertaining. Just because JS made the only pass does not meet it was boring. Those three were glued for ten laps to one another. I had it in my head for some reason they would cut to commercial and then Reed would be in the lead with James in third

CBS coverage for Oakland was great! We discussed it after the show.
Next week, back to the second 1/2 hour show, for Des Moines.

You need to take a reading comprehension course if you think my post said anything about the coverage not being entertaining. I even said cut them some slack if you did not enjoy it. This is a CBS coverage thread not a "were you entertained" thread. I am not a fan boy. I don't care about any of the riders results or the series points, different brands wins, etc. All I care about is the quantity of riders that lead the race. That is what makes a good "race" not a good follow the leader event. This is only my opinion.

It was much better. Hopefully they turn up the mics on the broadcast crew next time. I could barely hear what they were say during the racing.
