I've owned 11 Kawasakis and bought 5 of them NEW! ALL 2 STROKES, I own 2 250's now and will be buying a NEW 250 2 STROKE THIS YEAR FOR SURE!!!
Only problem is I have never bought a new motocross bike that wasn't Kawasaki, and they DON'T CARE that they have lost my business and it pisses me OFF!!! Anybody at KAWASAKI listening???? 4-strokes SUCK, they're heavy, $1200.00 for exhaust, $1000.00 for the new mapping C.P.U. for E.F.I. and don't even get me started on valves, cams, valve springs, valve spring keepers, pistons and on and on and on!!!!!The 4-stroke thing is driven by the manufacturers and especially the aftermarket!!!! BIG MONEY MX836 got it right, I now have to buy Yamaha.

Likely an '09 RMZ450 for me, probably not until the spring however. One more season on my '05 won't hurt.

just watched Red Bull X-Fighters from the Ft. Worth stockyards yesterday, alot of YZ 250's. Never saw one thumper in the competion, so thumpers must be hard to backflip.

i was thinking of picking up an 09 yzf450, but have decided against it. I cant justify paying $7000 for a new bike when i make $16000 a year, and have to pay for school

Getting too expensive. I went from riding/racing a couple times a week to now riding a couple times a month. $7500 for a new bike that you can't get $3500 for a year later puts a damper on it as well.

If you're going to buy, be a little prepared for sticker shock. The drop in the value of the dollar is a real problem. In particular, KTMs might cost considerably more. And a little birdie told me that KTM is seriously considering moving their manufacturing to India...
Might be wrong but can't see that happening, KTM have a seriously big operation going on in Austria and just built a big new plant as far as I know. It's not like it's just a call center the are up and moving.
If they do move it all to India, they will loss a lot of customers and i'll be one of them.

I agree. The price of MX bikes and the resale value is horrible. I'm a two stroke fella so its not nearly as bad a the four stroke riders. Plus the price of gas and travel time....

I get a new Bike every year and I see a guy is importing the 500AF Kawasaki's and Hondas into the UK now , but is wanting £6500 ( $13000) for them. I would love one, but at £2000 more than a new 4 stroke I can't justify that.

My son has a new 2008 YZ-125 he just got that runs very well; he and I are happy with it. I was thinking of a new bike but with the economy being wierd as it is I think its gonna have to wait a bit for me. We looked at a 250F, but we got a great deal on the 125 (plus its easy for him to do most of the work and be able to afford the parts).

Denn700, good to see your a Kawi guy as well, But I'm sure see my dilema as I do plan to add a new bike to the stable but since I only buy and ride 2-strokes I'm pretty much screwed trying to remain faithful to the green bikes. In over 30 yrs. of riding and buying only Kawis, I am forced to Buy a Yamaha, and I'm not cool with it but I assume when I get one I'll be proud of it. It will be hard though!

Only race kaw's!!! I have other(Lesser) bike's. But I want a new Kaw!!!!

I found a used 07 for a great price, But a used bike scare's me a little...

What's a Kaw guy to do?? Not looking forward to buyin' a 4 poker, But it look's like that's what I'm about to do!! Sad, Really sad!!

They make 2 stroke little bike's, Why not big one's??

Looks like I will be hanging on to my 05 YZ250F for another year or so. As slow as I ride, its juat getting broken in! When Yamaha comes out with EFI, I will pick up a good used 08 or 09 YZ250F then.

Kawi is still making and selling a 2009 250 2-stroke just not in the North American Market. Like I said earlier, you watch Red Bull X-Fighters or any of the X Games and all the Freestyle guys all ride 2-strokes. A bunch of them just a year ago were still on Hondas and Suzukis, but the X-Fighter show on Sunday form a june 14th event in Ft. Worth it was one KTM, one Suzuki, AND the rest of the field was YAMAHA'S because its all we have left. They got the 250 2-stroke market covered.

I really like my 08 honda however it has cost me a lot of money to make it the way I like it. Suspension really needed some work. I rode the 08 kawi and the suspension felt pretty dang good right from the get go, maybe a little too soft but not bad. However I really think my honda handles better in the stearing department. Last year I was hoping for EFI on the honda but my 08 runs so well I could care less about EFI now. I would really like honda to put some dollars into suspension like kawi has. I am really torn at possibly trying a kawi out but i just dont want to sacrifice handling and reliability that you get with the honda. I am really sick of honda not updating their bikes though. When I saw the 09 kawis this year I have been strongly considering buying one. I really dont know if I can wait until september like last year to hear that honda put on some BNG's and some parts that I could probably get from an aftermarket company.

I have a totally stock 08' CRF450 with 5 rides on it that is pristine and for sale. My 06' YZ250 is much more fun to ride. And that's what it's all about. No new bike for me.
