CAS Racing and Mike Brown Split Ways
- press release -

We have decided by mutual consent to go our separate ways. Mike has not been getting the results that he, or the team expect. The constant time away from home is now affecting him and he has been missing his children, they are at the age where he does not want to miss them growing up, which is understandable. We wish him all the best in the future, and hope he will be successful in whichever path he may take. Mike is a role model for any young rider taking up the sport and can be proud of his achievements over the years.

We will be shortly announcing his replacement.

Can't argue about that. Classy on CAS's part.

There is too much politics in Europe for American riders. Ask Hambone, I know he is a nice guy, but I'm sure he will reveal somethings. Money talks over there, people buy themselves onto a team!!

Ahhh .... the old "spend more time with the family" line.

Mike could have a future in politics.

I like mike but the only time Brownie will see those guys is when he's getting lapped . I hope he just comes home and has a great life hanging with his kids .

x2

He's fast, and I doubt he'd be getting lapped... He'd be top 10 for sure.

But yeah, I hope he enjoys time with his family. He deserves it.

Hardly. He was right there in the thick of the top 5 last year at Glen Helen.

1)Brownie don't get lapped. If you wanna see heart in MX, look at Brownie.

2)Brownie has alway's run to the end of a moto, no matter what.

3)He's earned #3. A past champion. Mike Brown is a great MX racer. He's over 30 and still a threat for the top 5. We all will be lucky to have him back out there at the Nationals.

You know all of this Cygnus.

Is Brownie becoming such a hard rider to deal with?

For most Americans, living and working in Europe might be fun for a little while but the food and language barriers would become a drag after a while.

I think Brown has raced a season or two in Europe, then came back at least three seperate times. That's unreal. Certainly would wear on a guy and family.

They have McDonalds and Burger King in Europe. They have good food in Europe most places better than here. The language barrier is not such a big deal. CAS Honda is in Britian there should not be much of a language barrier.

I've spent some time in GB and the food is really lousy. Continental Europe has better food but it's still hit or miss and depending on where you are you may, or may not, be able to communicate with the guy on the other side of the counter. .

it's amazing that you think these guys are fending for themselves in europe.... building shelters, hunting for deer and trying to communicate with the natives...

they have a TEAM around them... they have things taken care for them.

it's also funny how you can ignore the factors when riders cross in the opposite direction...

Of course, didn't you know that?
According to some of the guys on here, the US is the center of the world and everything outside of it, is backward.Silly Silly

Funny, no one really bitched about Hamblin coming back over here.....didn't hear too much grumbling about Mills either.

You guys are funny.

Mike is not getting top 10's in Europe so now your all saying he just comes home, goes through the drive thru at In and Out Burger and he'll be on the podium here??

Are the guys in Europe that much faster then here or are you guys just dreaming that Brown is still as good as he was 5 years ago?

Not faster just deeper, more competitive. JBS would blow them away, but after that not so sure.

In the States we have more fat people than anywhere in the world, surely the food ain't the problem in Europe or the UK.

Brownie just hasn't been on it this year, I've been watching all the GP's, he just looks burned out.

Yeah, but I actually prefer the food in Germany. It's more like we're use to here. I was surprised that Italian food was really bad the further south you go. The northern Italian food is much better.
