The pots up to $1.3 Billion, hope I win!

I heard an interesting idea. What if for a big lottery like this for every 100 or 250 or 500 million dollars, pick a number, you added a draw.

Say you add a draw at 500 million, for this  1.3 billion draw they would pull 3 numbers and the pot is split between the winners, but your 1 ticket has 3 chances to win. Would you be more likely to buy lottery tickets in this scenario?

Poll

Would you be more likely to buy lottery tickets if?

I rarely play lottery and it's only when it's out of control like this round. I woke up to my alarm and still had to go to work. 😫

Interesting concept, but I think its the really big amounts that attract people.  Its bad enough that if You win the $1.4B You get it paid out over 20 years or about half, then taxes. Still would be great to grab an extra  few hundred mill.

I think that if they paid the income taxes on the big prize for the winner that would be another interesting thing to help attract players.

A friends mother won 2.9Mil years ago when we were just out of Highschool. She had thrown the ticket away and almost didn't check the numbers.  He told me she got $90k per year after taxes .  $1.4Bill would be a wild amount of money to win! Even with all the taxes and BS.

If I win, there will be some new tracks built in New England.  They say there is a better chance I'll be hit by lightning, I have been hit 1 time, my grandparents also got hit one time each.

No matter who wins, it would be cool if somebody on here won.

I love the odds comparisons to keep me from getting hopeful. ChatGPT gave me a few, this was my favorite:

One second in time: Choosing a specific second out of a span of ~9.27 years (≈292 million seconds) — that’s Powerball.

Maybe I should ask for some numbers to play.

i've heard your chances go up like 300% if you have more than one ticket so i always buy a couple tix with a couple draws with a couple lines.

i've not won yet so could be a bullshit stat

Lottery prices went up so winning amount has also?

Drop $99 and get 30 random picks with multiplier . Go big or stay home.

1.4 billion - about half paid to lottery (ticket cost) 275 million to fed, some to state (depending on state) walk with about 450 million. Annuity is 29 million a year pre tax for 30 years. Put half in trusts, brokerage accounts, life insurance wrappers, IRAs each year. You'd be a billionaire after 30 years.

I'd take the lump sum and put it in my bank account to live off the interest. Buy a few pieces of real estate and a bunch of cars. $450M is wayyyy too much money for me, so I'd probably give a bunch of food to the homeless and buy bikes for neighborhood kids as my full-time job.

The amount that I would give away is insane. I couldn’t even try to spend that.

Went to check numbers last night and discovered …… I didn’t win because the teller had sold me Fridays tickets.

Thats a win isn’t it?

I see it's up to $1.7 billion now.

Crumbs, just $1 mil will sort me out. I need a small house to grown old in.

The lotto here and the dudes who run it are so corrupt...they choose who wins it.

I'd take the lump sum as well, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.  I would put the money in a non interest bearing account cause I don't ever want to pay income tax again.  If I can't live on 500 million the interest won't help.

I've always liked that charity where doctors volunteer to fix the kids with cleft palate.  Simple surgery with absolutely life changing results.  Anything that makes kids life happier is a-ok with me.😉
