With both 250 guys in the LCQ, and one not making it, for no reason other than speed, and AP7 almost missing out on 450 and no Webb, what are they going to do for 2024?
Vohland needs a stellar outdoors to keep a seat IMO, and Vialle looked like a guy trying not to be hurt for outdoors.
Big changes ahead maybe?
The guy who just won the 450 SX championship is heavily rumored to be going there, and Vialle should shine outdoors so I think they’ll be fine.
About Vialle, I would think again. Especially if it is a hot muggy summer.
I'm pretty sure mathes said this week that Vohland is heading to star Yamaha for next season. Maybe they can figure him out and turn him into something special.
As said, Vohland is going to star, even if i’d rather see him going for a mx2 gp seat. I really think that a MX only ride would suit him well for a season or two…
the US mx2 title will stand between Vialle and Hunter with RJ up there to.
The Shop
Don’t count Jo out, he’s a lot more consistent than RJ.
People have written off shimoda for outdoors I feel, after he had a very successful series last year beating hunter and winning races. Need to put him in the title fight I feel with hunter and Vialle
how about Justin Cooper bro......
So frustrating watching vohland struggle like he has. Dude has such great style but it’s like he just didn’t adapt. Wonder if it’s something to do with him jumping out of amateurs way too early before he really got his confidence up winning B class etc
Has ktm ever won a 250 title? Doesn’t seem like they have in recent years. I can’t remember
I hope Vohland turns it around outdoors and figures SX out with Star (if he ends up there). The good bits look so good, but then he has quite a few rides like Salt Lake's LCQ and it is just puzzling.
I can’t remember them even caring about 250s since Musquin’s long walk up that hill at Ironman in 2015. I’ve thought for a few years they just don’t see the value in paying top dollar for winning 250 guys and would rather put that money toward someone who car win a 450 title. It makes sense. The yahama was winning 250 titles left and right but it took a 450 title for people to start respecting the brand again. Meanwhile, KTM has won a number of 450 titles and no 250 titles, but still has a lot of respect from the fans and buying public.
KTM has only one 250 SX Championship to their credit - Marvin Musquin won the East Championship in 2015. Marv moved up to the 450s in 2016.
Kenny won as well
didnt Anderson win his 250 title on a ktm?
This is correct but we’re forgetting about Jo.
Yes Anderson was on a KTM when he won his 250 SX title.
Watching him outdoors last year at Millville- He has elite speed and will be running up front.
His supercross struggles are odd, if he is really going to Star I would expect his skills to get better based on their strong training program, plus he will have Deegan to pace..
Yeah, no kidding. Jett basically has Cooper to thank for his 2 outdoor titles.
Pit Row
Is Ju Beaumer going to go to KTM when he goes pro? Kid seems like he has serious potential. I think he and Dax are every bit as fast (possibly faster at times) than Deegan. Hell, their qualifying times yesterday were right there with all of the top 250 and 450 riders (within 1 second) and just 0.1 sec off of Deegan's best time. Those two kids can seriously rip.
You really think that the bike wins the championship?
The old saying is, it’s 80% rider & 20% bike…but, not a single Championship has been won an a bike that is an acknowledged POS.
In outdoors they have 0 250f titles and only 1 125 title (Langston 2003).
In supercross they have 3 250f titles Musquin (2015) Anderson (2014) Ken Roczen (2013) and 0 125 titles.
Surprisingly few championships on little bikes.
"Surprisingly few championships on little bikes"????? Last year alone KTM won 5 AMA National championships in the 65,85 and Supermini classes.
Remember they have a few MX2 world titles.
