Big thanks to the many users of this screen name for that late braking news. Really cleared a lot of things up for us "regular folk" out here not connected to the industry, unlike you 4 dudes. 👍

No one needs to crucify this guy. But, right it right. My friend wanted to let it go and I said screw that. I recommended Chad and it's not about the money it's about doing what's right. This is not the end of the world but it's bullshit. I just want to know if we are the only ones. He is being sued. My friend will win a small claims court case and likely never be paid. So just letting you guys know..... I know Chad is talented and he is always very nice on the phone. He just doesnt do what he says he will do. 2 years 1 month he has had the money.

So, I have some personal experience with this. I sent Watts an 83 Mugen 125 and I literally wanted the entire bike done in the most trick way possible. I drove the bike from Florida to NC and delivered it personally. I was assured that this was a "few months" job.

Delivered August 2019. I have all the texts between Chad and I, I have all the photos, excuses, periods of silence and more excuses. If it had not been for a third person who intervened when Chad moved to SOB in SC, I never would have seen this bike again, You wouldn't believe some of the rationale for how long it was taking.

I received the bike September, 2022. That's three years for those of you keeping score. The bike, was possibly the nicest bike I've ever seen other than an HRC 125. Maybe even better than an HRC. The problem was that it was the most frustrating experience of my life, and without help, I was screwed. I'm not sure what the build cost. I supplied the bike and a lot of trick parts. Swingarm, subframe, etc. Chad ordered the rest. Complete titanium, etc. Tons of work.

That being said, I would NEVER do it again.

If his buddy didn't have enough energy to make a phone call, how would buddy be able to get to the mailbox to see if there is a refund check?

Maybe it's just me but you and the JakeOwens guy seem to be of the same mold.  You'll come across as being fine and normal for awhile and then bamm, suddenly one day comes up with an ultra-hokey point of view that gets caught up on some odd nuance of a topic.

I have no personal experience with Watts Perfections, but since you're asking, I have seen him post photos on Facebook on more than one occasion over the years that eventually led to someone in the comments asking him to "please return my calls, cylinder, motor, and/or money."

Wow! Glad you got that gem back!

Was that bought as a Mugen model that came with the tank/seat or did you find the tank/seat somewhere?

More like ignorance. You must often wonder why you don’t have any friends and your comments show why you don’t.

I'm tempted to downvote this because it has killed my productivity this afternoon. Are those fork legs titanium, or coated, or is my color is just off?

A friend can’t help another friend with cancer get his money back? That’s just an ignorant take sometimes people need help and especially someone who’s probably going through treatments and has bigger worries in life at the moment.

I didn't say they can't, I said it was weird.

That's not usually how businesses operate.  They only send refunds and tracking info to their customers, not people claiming to be friends with their customers.

You know what is ignorant? Making a snap judgement and overlooking inconvenient details from a story posted anonymously on the internet.

We have the freedom to ask questions, why not try to resolve the weird details before making up your mind on the issue?

MX business world has some of the biggest flakes and excuse makers around. There should be a caveat emptor sticky. But then there would ruffled feathers due to the secrecy and good ol’ boy nature of it all.

WOW what a bike.  Just had a look at Watts' IG account and see he actually featured it.  Too bad he's likely earned other customers off of your steed.

Notice the convenient "typo".

Not "watts perfections" (one word) as the screen name.

It's "wattsp erections".  😲

Maybe they're hinting at how a customer might expect to be treated by them? 🤔

And sounds like their service manager is Ben Dover. 😁

Wouldn't that be unusual to call on behalf of someone else?

Just be sure to say, "asking for a friend."  😆

Just because team guys are "cool" doesn't mean they're good people. When money, and "issues" are involved, people will do stuff they might not do otherwise...

Hope this works out for the good.

Did he not do the bike for Ryan Hughes at the Ranch 86 cr 250 ? Man that sucks for sure because always heard he does great work. Seems like the engine builders are as bad as Helmet painters.

I personally and I know all kinds of people that call businesses on the behalf of many people, specially older people that cannot navigate the BS phone systems to pay bills resolve billing issues.

The reason I'm involved is I vouched for Chad. I set up what my buddy wanted and talked him into doing it. This is not about money. We both do very well. Its about treating people honestly. I just wanted to know if this was a isolated incident or a pattern.... Ill be at Daytona in Presidents row. I usually sit near RCs mom. Maybe I'll ask her what's up with chad.... Ill wear a Porsche hat. if anybody on the forum sees me, say hi.
