Wilson was on the bottom of the 3rd face going backwards. Sexton went roll, roll, double. Not sure why webb would not have hit the double after they cleared Wilson.
After Webbs coment I went back and watched. He jumped the big double!! He is losing that win or being penalized points for that.
The red lights were flashing on the big double. You can't jump on red flahsing lights, even if after the downed rider.
Okay. If lights were on then yeah he’s probably receiving a penalty. I did not see the lights..

It should be bigger than a 3 point penalty otherwise they will always risk it
It will be a 7 point penalty unless the rule has changed from when Musquin did the same thing in Seattle 2019.
You get docked points for 2 positions plus an additional 2 points.
First would be 26 points. 3rd is 21. Plus 2 extra giving Sexton 19 for the night. As long as the rule is the same. I didn't search out the 2023 rule book.

It should definitely be positions and then alter the results. For instance, if they dock him points, not positions, that’s 1 point Webb doesn’t gain on Tomac he should have if they went 1-2. That could matter. Like if you gain a few seconds jumping through a section, that could make the difference in your finishing position. Yes they dock you points, but they’ll keep Webb and Tomac’s points earned the same.

Well, it looks like that's a wrap on Sexton's hopes on the championship. 17 points down with only 7 rounds to go. Fuck, this rule is important, but they use the red cross flag way too liberally, and the punishment is way too high.
how so? everyone has the same f'n rule to follow. its not hard to follow the rule.
That is not an insurmountable points deficit by any stretch. Tonight probably gave him a ton of confidence. He passed his two biggest rivals and dropped them.

True, he can but the odds are he won't pull it off. The two guys ahead of him in points are both multi-time champions for a reason. One of them will win this.
Why wasn’t Cooper docked for getting air off the same jump? He didn’t double it but he jumped.
