Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm pulling the holeshot on this. Seattle is going to be bad. Its calling for rain the entire week leading up to and the week following the race. Not looking like we are going to luck out like last year. Ill see you out there with my rain coat on!!
It’s time for a real mud race
If I buy cheap seats, can we sit anywhere? We had good seats last year and saw so many rows below us not being used so we just got up and sat down there. I’ve looked at tickets in the same area that we sat and they are pretty expensive on Ticketmaster so I’m just making sure since I have only been there once. I’d hate to buy seats in the sky and actually have to sit up there
You rolls the dice and you takes the chances…
whoever decided to schedule Seattle in march in an open stadium is a complete fucking idiot!
The Shop
Not just the Seattle round but pretty much the whole series after the 1st few rounds in California. Having West coat guys ride 4 rounds sit out 3 weeks and come back and ride 1 race is pretty lame.
Yep.
With this forecast I'm glad I didn't get tickets.
Supercross in the mud just doesn't do much for me, especially in person, half the fun is watching them go fast and do big jumps.
Then you'll know it pours in May also.
Stadium has a retractable roof 💭
I used to not mind mudders when I was younger. As I get older, I hate them. Hopefully it’s not.
It doesn't retract. It only covers a majority of the seating of the crowd. The field is still open to the elements.
It might snow ❄️
IDK man its kind of a dice roll between the October 1st and July 5th up here. Last spring is wouldn't stop fucking raining until mid June. I think it was one of the wettest springs on record. Given that SX goes from January to May it there's no real "good" time to schedule it beyond just crossing fingers that you luck out with less rain than usual.
Biblical...
Couple things:
If you actually think about it, the majority of the rounds here in Seattle since being in the new stadium have actually been dry, surprisingly.
also, the meteorologist usually can’t accurately predict the weather here 2 days from now this time of year, so I wouldn’t bother getting too worked up over their 10 day forecast. Not saying it’ll be dry, just that I’d wait till mid next week before putting any weight on their predictions.
Since 1975 I’ve been to more than 100 SX’s….. what you described above is my go-to routine! Jack Murphy stadium was notorious for not checking seat numbers on tickets. Back in the day we would buy $15 tickets for the cheap seats and then sit on the press box level. Hell, a few times, we actually sat in the press box, and ate free food.
Then there was a time at the LA Colosseum during practice earlier in the day, when my friend pulled up to the gate, in his lowered Cadillac with flames on it, and he told the guy that he was the Vietnam vet that was going to sing the national anthem from his car on the stadium floor for the night show. The guy opened the gate, pointed and said the tunnel to the stadium floor is over there. Lol, my buddy literally could have drove onto the stadium floor but instead he was laughing his head off and drove circles around inside of the stadium among the pedestrians and vendors then drove out and parked in the regular pits. SX is not known for their security unless it’s something like Weedges kid trying to get on the track for practice.
damn dude. took like 10 posts to post this. Thank you for keeping things proper around here! ;-)
Press Boxes can be easy! Reminds me of the time at Vegas we poached the Press Box early just to poke our heads in and they came in and started setting up around us.....catering mainly! as we just blended in and posted up. Finally, what did we get 2 or 3 more friends in? Finally, David Baily rolls in and we end up bench racing with the Little Professor for 20 mins before some rando fan pulls out a stack of pics from some of David's previous SXs and we notice a picture of YOU doing track walk with either David or his dad on the floor of the Rose Bowl in all your gear from the year you must have raced him, The fan gave it to David he signed it and gave it to you! BBQ, Tasty Sammys, a Deluxe PuPu tray and drinks and an epic epic bench race session all on a $20 ticket! How surreal was that??!
I think that was the year I saw Skip cut MC's front brake cable to give McGraths front number plate to JBone - That hurt!! and the year I ran into Jessica Patterson at The Circle Bar looking for her crew, looking completely out of place. Later in the night I think I'm doing pretty good chattn up this high-speed tomato thinking my game must be on...until she mentioned her prices!! Dohhh - Forgot I was in Vegas
That’s awesome. I didn’t know if the rules had changed for seattle. I can’t remember what stadium, maybe tiny arco arena that had workers standing at the entrance of all the areas to go down to the seats that checked tickets. I would hate to buy cheap ones and have to sit there. With the potential rain, I can’t imagine that place filling up
It looks like rain on Thursday and Friday. Only 20% Saturday , right now
.
Pit Row
The weather here this time of the year is basically impossible to predict 5 days out. Even 24 hours. It’s gonna be super rutty though for sure even if it doesn’t anymore this week.
They finally demolished that POS arena. We couldn't get away with anything I swear the employees got commission each time they busted someone.

I nominate you to take over the SX scheduling department. I hear it is an easy job to schedule all these rounds around the requirements of the teams, facilities and other Feld activities.
Currently looking decent, but still a bit early to place your bets.
getting better. When I made this thread, it showed like 2 weeks of straight rain. Looks like we will have a decent track with super soft transitions.
HAHA!
My dad took me to my first supercross there. I remember the roads being snowed over as we got close. As we entered the stadium the lady gave my dad some towels which I thought was strange but when we got to our seats and saw them covered in ice it all made sense.
