Would be cool if this comes true. Be interesting to see what staffing they would get

With Coy gone and Joe’s age, why would Joe even bother to put money back into moto?  If he did, would he let someone outside the family, J bone maybe, head it up?

Rumour...you mean clicks Steve?

Doesn't have to be money...traffic and ego is something more valuable than money for these people.

Ducati would likely be paying them to run the program, so a much different deal than the first time, and Coy's son would run it I imagine.

Coy's son Ty is racing full time in the Cup Series, when would he have time to run a motocross team?  If it happens for JGR it will have to be managed by someone besides a Gibbs.  Not sure if any of JD's kids are involved with racing at all, maybe that would be an option.

The kids have a very strong interest in returning to SX/MX program. They were working / hoping for the Triumph team.

As great as it is having these new mfg's entering moto it's also nice having new people getting in or back in, whether it be owners or managers etc...

They have a guy named Jeremy Albrecht on the payroll. He has a little experience running a race team.

Only hiccup is JGR’s relationship with Toyota as Ducati is part of the Volkswagen umbrella. I’m sure a big enough check could solve this though.

I used to like NASCAR, sometimes wear my Yankees ball cap, and have a beard. Hope this doesn't end our friendship 🥴

I don't and never have understood the whole JGR thing and how everyone hopes they come back. Haven't they been replaced? How many wins/championships did they achieve?

'Cause people like to see the little guy beat the factories. It's not as easy as Star and Pro-Circuit make it out to be

I think Ducati is more concerned about hiring people with experience and at a place on the East Coast that has all the equipment/riding facilities so they aren’t starting from scratch. Rumor is if they go with JGR, J-Bone will come back at some capacity. When JGR stopped racing moto, they said coming back wasn’t completely off the table. The shop still exists as they still are involved in Nascar.

I guess I would ask; why wouldn’t you want to see JGR back in the sport?

It's more than a rumour. JGR are not the only ones in the running but they are a real possibilty.

They would take resources from teams capable of achieving results, teams that support the sport unconditionally. Assume they get the Ducati deal and the obvious big sponsorships that come with Ducati motorsports and sign a big name rider. What will Ducati and all the big sponsors who come with them think if it becomes the shit show that the James Stewart/JGR deal did? Some of the sponsors JGR had back in the day left moto and haven't come back, and I don't blame them. JGR was always crying and bitching about the lack of support manufacturers (Suzuki) gave them, I don't see HEP or BarX bad mouthing Suzuki openly the way JGR did. And when JGR has had enough of moto, they will leave again.

I believe the Ducati team is still far from settled on who’s gonna run the team.

So when did you get fired from JGR 🤔

JGR is never coming back. It was a labor of love for Coy, and since his passing there is no one that passionate about Moto in the JGR ranks.

Wouldn’t Ducati be a factory effort though? And if so, wouldn’t that mean Ducati makes the decision to stay or go?

Not sure if JGR would be able to make that decision once they sign.

Either way, I’m just excited to see another team in the paddock and if it’s at JGR, that’s more jobs both at the track and at the shop instead of just putting another existing team on a Ducati.

Doesn’t JBone still work for JGR? 🤔

That last paragraph makes a REALLY good point.

I don't see it happening. Ty is on the cusp of being the Next big deal in Cup and like mentioned earlier, joe is getting up there and with Coy gone, I don't see the interest. Wouldn't mind it a bit though.
