Raced against him a bunch as a kid, his dad was the equivalent of Dave Grohl back in the day , and he just rocked up with a bike on a trailer and wellies on and got on with it.

setting aside drumming skill, where bonham is undoubtedly superior, dave started a little band called foo fighters after kurt was killed, and dave successfully led the foo fighters on lead vocals for 25+ years. he also didn't drink himself to death, so there's that too.
