I have been reading social posts about Hunter over the last couple of years how he reacts after getting beaten or after some bad luck motos how he is either angry or arrogant and it has rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way and I can understand the way he comes across in the past would give that opinion. I think he always wore his heart on his sleeve because of the effort he was putting forward and after coming off the track with a microphone in his face 5 minutes later that is what we saw. I feel this year is so different and today listening to him on the podium after moto 2 cemented that for me, I haven't seen the footage yet but he said that he came across 4 x lappers that were fighting for there positions and he went down trying to navigate them. I liked his calmness on the podium talking about the situation these days he shows a lot of maturity. Same as the video footage from Southwick when his bike blew up 2 laps from the end of Moto 1, he didn't carry on like a pork chop he presented himself very well and now he has the red plate back again and well deserved! Just wanted to give him props for obviously calming down over the years and he is a deserving champion if he gets this thing done.

Be it Aussie, French, Kiwi etc they all just tell it how it is.
I think it comes across as arrogant in the States, but it is far from it.
The moral of the story is….ignore social media posts.
Hunter is solid. I just hope it didn’t aggravate his ribs any further. I suspect the injury he’s carrying may be worse than he lets on.
Agreed. Cant take anything from the guy. Even yesterdays gear😂 he didnt design it.

". I suspect the injury he’s carrying may be worse than he lets on." - if that's the case and he just went 1 - 1 then a healthy Hunter will decimate the field.
Championship is wide open between 5 guys, blood in the water going up into Bigfoot country!!
What?
Umm, the op is from Au so it's not us Americans who are pointing out some arrogance on this.
The replay showed he wasn't anywhere near 4 riders and just washed his front end....not sure why he said that?
This is true. I saw the replay after the race and wondered what the hall he was talking about? Maybe he was flustered before the replay started?
Without the injury, inconsistent starts would be the only thing holding him back.
He's clearly head and shoulders above the field. I really impressed with the improvement he's made this year. I thought Jo had him covered. Am I wrong to assume he's moving up to 450's next year?
Social media=Big Tobacco. Brain Cancer vs Lung cancer
Yes, 450 next year, along side his brother. Jo and Chance 250's
I thought Hunter was a total fucking boss this weekend. There is no denying he has been the best 250 rider in this series. Dude showed up and told everyone what was up.
Yep JT$ has been singing that song all week, but seemed to change his tune about 9 seconds into moto 1.
Hunter absolutely made my day in that first moto. He could have got up there and said he hated Mark Barnett and I'd still give him a tip of the ol' cap.
He didn't say he crashed overtaking 4 riders at once or that there was 4 in that 1 corner.
He said there was 4 lappers infront of him on the last lap. A few on the down hill then into the corner. The lapper was on the outside so he ducked to the inside and washed the front.

Don’t come in here changing their narrative with facts!

It's in the 1st minute of this video if anyone cares.
I think Hunter will be running up front with Jett and Chase when he goes to 450. I think he will consistently be the 3rd fastest of that group for the next ~5+ years.
Yeah nah. Unless he has more bad luck he's go it locked down. Unfortunately the rest of the class is too far behind the 8 ball.
To be fair that wasn't what was said prior to the press conference...the way he originally said made it sound like there were 4 riders that were directly in front of him and TV was pushing narrative that he tangled with a lapper...
I’m afraid when chase goes to Ktm he’s going to lose a step on Jett. Then it will just be boring as hell. Hope I’m wrong though.
Moto 1 he was taking non burnt in lines. Was crazy to see him cut across a couple of rutted lines on an off camber turn. He was putting the bike wherever he wanted. I'm guessing the track wasn't as conducive to that kind of riding late in moto 2. Dude has 2 DNFs and still has the points lead.
Webb did well on the ktm his first year. Chase will also be riding the updated chassis which I suspect will be better than what they have now. I think the ktm will reduce his crashes (to be fair I think the kawasaki and maybe the Yamaha would too).
