DRD Two Stroke exhausts

Got announced a couple days ago, didn’t see anyone mention it on here. Surprised it took Dubach this long to hop onto the two stroke wave. Looks like only KTM setups are out now, but I’m sure they’ll have some YZ options out shortly. 77F3681F-C2F0-46C3-8F2A-F01DF886F4C5

I seem to recall there were some Dr D 2-stroke pipes some time ago.. like 10 years ago.   For a very brief period.

Those look pretty nice.  Not exactly pumped on the idea of drilling rivets to repack, though.

Silencer looks awful similar to PC 304.

Cool looking pipes.

Of course 2-smoker pipes always look cool. Wink

Hey were we not told that 2 strokes were going away like 20+ years ago?

Be thankful that off road racers kept them alive.

I ran this brand for many years on 250f and 450f, 2004 - 2011.  Good quality and fit and finish.

Now I run stock unless it gets trashed in a crash.

The bang for the buck isn't there. Full system pipes are a real rip off.  Cool as hell, but IMO money poorly spent.

This new 2-stroke version looks good though.

Years ago I bought a Dr. D 4-stroke pipe and it had Pro Circuit stamped on the inlet side of the muffler. They have since moved the 4-stroke production in house but he may have struck a deal with them on 2-strokes. Just a guess.

For sure, if I was trying to get a 2 stroke pipe company off the ground I'd be catering to the hard enduro crowd.

It’s bonkers to me people have no problem spending over $1k on an exhaust but put zero effort into getting their suspension done to make their bikes more rideable

That revives my memory a little bit. Were they any good?

What makes you think people that spend $1k on an exhaust don't also get their suspension done?

My suspension guy does free springs swaps if you bring him a brand new bike, sells your springs as brand new take offs to shops in AUS since they have to pay so much more for new stuff they eat up new take offs and that covers the cost of your new springs.

Suspension first, pipe always in the mail while bike is torn apart for suspension

Hey I sell intake scoops that offer more performance gain than most aftermarket exhaust for 1/10 the price but somehow exhaust systems still massively outsell me Whistling

I love Dr. D stuff.  Doug is a great guy, but holy chit, silencers, these are expensive.

I know this thread is over a year old….but does anyone have any experience on the G2 2 stroke exhaust?  It would be cool if MXA or Keefer Testing did a comparison on exhaust for the current generation YZ 125.
