Man, it seemed like several years ago  all we heard was climate change climate change. How many catastrophe deadlines did we pass? Now you don’t really hear that much about it.

This world we live in is how old? 4.5 billion years? Earth has been through countless climate changes and we still here.

I do believe Carbon dioxide due to our activities is a problem that needs to be further regulated.

What are the answers?

What happened was the fear mongering message got played out so "they" moved on to the  next crisis de jour.

Fun fact: the earth was going through periods of heating and cooling way before man kind so we have always had climate change.

Very arrogant of Al Gore and AOC to think they can control Mother Nature in a 12 year window like they were saying!!

They don't think that, they just need to make everyone else think that they can. (I mean,  Al Gore is smart enough to know he's grifting, AOC is very possibly too stupid to know it's BS)

Pollution is real and a changing climate is a constant feature of Mother Nature. Climate change was/is a sham used by mega corporations (the mega polluters) to shift the public’s attention away from pollution (is real, is important, and is something with verifiable consequences) and on to something so ambiguous. It also allowed the mega corporations to shift the guilt and blame onto the consumers.

Climate change was and is an extremely successful PR campaign that has netted huge profits, both economically and politically.

It was a bunch of rich white liberals flying around the world on private jets to meet and discuss how to prevent the middle and low classes from destroying the climate. And the best way to do that was to send your government money..

I personally think we have an ice age coming, and if you send me money I will tell you how to prevent it…

Right now the latest liberal outrage is all things Trump…no time to worry about the climate..

Bill Gates got tied up and had to stop pushing his climate change agenda to fight his pedophile allegations.

It does seem to have fallen off the media radar as of late. I’ll leave the science up to the experts but I do know it’s a complex model and is dependent on varying degrees of projections. I look at it as an intersection design. You can run the numbers sufficiently  but at the end of the day the difficult piece is projecting future traffic volumes and the end result could be off, favorable or unfavorable. 15 to 20 years is more realistic, 50 to 75 years may not even be practical.

What I do know, is the climate does appear to be changing. Population growth and pollutants can’t be good. There’s some countries that rely on mostly on bottled water, for instance. That’s not sustainable. In my area the biggest issue is forest health. Some pass the buck and say it’s simply climate change. That’s short sided cause I’ve seen us suppress forest fires for years, and now we are overgrown and have too many old trees. When a fire erupts, it’s absolutely catastrophic. Is it drought/climate related, yes. Is that biggest factor? I don’t think even close.

I think the best thing we can do is prepare for what we’re seeing and continue to find ways to make us more resilient. I’m not an environmentalist but we can surely find economic ways to reduce pollution and waste.  The effort this far has been solely emissions but there’s so many any other things closer to home we can do to help. Until it leaves the politicians realm, I don’t think we’ll ever have an honest conversation.

No sign of snow in South Central Alaska.

Cold as all hell, and hurricane winds last 4 weeks just nonstop, thankfully Xmas Eve/Day was calm.  As I write this, I am watching the airport wind readings. Just got a good 76 MPH gust; constant average of 40 MPH winds.

The "Climate Change Cartel" AKA billionaires that want to fleece more of our money have realized they need that tradition energy to power their AI centers. Hmmmm, who would have thought.

Everyone knows climate has changed throughout earths history. Ice ages, warm periods etc. it’s less about air temp and more about water temp, since there is way more  water than land on earth.

The rate at which it’s warming is something scientists don’t think has happened on earth before.

What happened to the climate change catastrophe?

Well, it's real and here in California. Sacramento has successfully driven Phillips66 as well as Valero  out of the State. Chevron, the states biggest refiner, just moved it's headquarters, which has been here for 150 years or so, to Houston. If they also decide to shutter their refineries like Phillips and Valero, gas may easily go up to $10/gal. Newsome panicked and pretty much begged the oil companies to stay and every one of them basically said fuck you,  There is a plan in the works to reverse some pipelines and supply refined products to Arizona from Texas. That would relieve some of the burden on the remaining refineries here which supply most of the refined products to AZ.They have no refineries. All of this is the doing of the one party rule her and driven by climate change.

There is no question that the California democrats are absolutely the biggest enemy of blue collar Californians and their standard of living. What  the big question is: when will the fucking morons in this state figure it out and quit voting these people in? And will it be in time?

Goddam, this is great The air is so clear I can see Mt Wilson from here. From my dumpster that is.

When I moved to Maryland in 1975 we had lots of snow on the ground every winter. Now it rarely snows there anymore.

Those scientists should read up on the Permian Period.

It must have been plenty warm then. Where my house is used to be a sea, and I am 300 miles inland.

The earth is cooled down.It  was cold today, frost on the window of the dodge this morning,I could see my breathe when I exhaled.

It’s all good now.we can go back to burning fossil fuel.belching black smoke from diesels.

yes it has been hotter in earth in history then it is today. It’s the rate at which it’s warming that is the concern. It won’t happen in your lifetime but you might eventually own beach front property.

Don't know where you grew up and you gota few circles around sun on me but I grew up in Garden Grove area. Most days you could not see the mountains, unless Santa Ana, or after rain. It was not uncommon for "smog day" had to stay indoors at school. No outside play. Hell, first time I want to China (Shanghai, as part of a team to get a Gatorade plant up and running) you could see just about every color of smoke billowing out the factory chimneys you could think of.

Same with CT, it barely ever snows here anymore and if it does, it's gone soon from warming Temps. Snow belt has moved north.

I grew up in the Long Beach area. Smog was bad back in the 60's/70's. It 90% tailpipe emissions which was pretty much cleaned up by the early 90's.

I moved to Vista in 77. I never knew how desensitized I was to it until I would come back to visit friends and my eyes would water & burn from the dirty air.

I remember the "O-Zone layer will be gone and we'll all die" BS back when I was a kid in the 90's. Then they shut up about it after it "healed itself". Then Al Gore after that telling everyone he invented the internet and then complaining we're all gonna be flooded in 10 years. Well, 25 years have passed and still no one on the coasts are under water and the banks are still giving out those expensive ocean-front home loans.

Please tell me that you understand that the ozone layer didn't simply 'heal itself' while we kept pumping the same amounts of CFCs into the atmosphere.  Huge, worldwide regulations were implemented in order to reduce the amount of emissions that affect the ozone layer.
