Edit: found the video, looks like he's handing out commercially available gas masks. You can get them for $30 CAD on Amazon. No other tactical gear is shown at all in the video. Not sure if I'd be building a case of massive funding from somewhere based off of a guy handing out a couple hundred dollars worth of easily available safety gear.

The entire protest is about abuse of power.
By sending in the national guard(illegally without the governor’s permission) and the marines (illegal without invoking the insurrection act) they’re abusing power even more.
Your “law and order” requires the government to follow the law. It is not doing so. Hence the protests.

Did they come into the country illegally and have now decided to try and get legal status? If that’s the case, you don’t get to break the law, then apply while you’re still here illegally and act like everything should be ok.

The mass illegal immigration that was ALLOWED to happen is like when a parent spoils a kid rotten.
At some point the kid is going to have to face consequences and because they were spoiled, facing those consequences later on down the road feels doubly hard as opposed to if the letter of the law was followed from the beginning.
Its a set up for future tragedy.
They come in on temporary asylum claims, as do the majority of "illegal immigrants." This is why people often refer to them as migrants instead. They enter the country legally under a temporary asylum claim, then attempt to get permanent residence through the courts system.(This is also why building Trump's wall is pointless, they come in through legal ports of entry) There are not enough judges, however, so often their time runs out before they can get a hearing. They'll go to the court to get their removal order dismissed based on this. Once it is dismissed, they have more time to get in front of an immigration judge to start their path to permanent residency and/or citizenship, usually an extra 30 days. They're being grabbed as soon as their case is dismissed apparently, then fast tracked to removal so they can't argue their case in court.
The asylum system is definitely not working as intended, as all of these migrants are using it as a free pass to get into the states. But do you know why the asylum claim laws exist? It was passed unanimously after the US refused to accept Jewish refugees during WWII, to make sure that something like that never happened again. I guess the hard part of the question is how do you fix it without going back to being the country who refused to take Nazi fleeing Jews and left them to die.
This example is probably 5% or less of the people that ICE is deporting.
